How your company interacts with internal candidates can differ drastically from how you interact with external candidates. Because internal candidates are existing employees at your company, the interview questions asked, the type of information required, the job post, and other expectations might not necessarily overlap between both sets of candidates.
Greenhouse Recruiting allows your organization to manage your internal job posts and external job posts separately. This will let you configure an internal job post, including the job post name, location, language, description, and application questions, to be completely distinct from the external job post on the job.
Create an internal job post during new job creation
If the job post step is enabled for job setup flow, you'll be prompted to configure a job post when creating a new job in Greenhouse Recruiting.
From the Job Post configuration page, fill in the appropriate details of the job post (keeping in mind whether the target audience is internal or external candidates).
Navigate to the Post To field and select your internal job board from the dropdown menu.
Configure the following job post details:
- Description box including the image and video
- Pay transparency fields
- Basic application information (personal information and education)
- Custom application question
- Settings
Continue with the job setup when finished.
Once the job is approved for recruiting, navigate to Job Job Setup Job Post and toggle the Status button to LIVE.
Your job post is now live on your internal job board.
Click the arrow icon to view the live job post on your job board.
Add an internal job post to an existing job
To create an internal job post for an existing job, navigate to a job by clicking Jobs on your navigation bar, then select a job from the list.
From the Job page, click Job Setup and navigate to Job Posts on the left panel.
From the Job Posts page, click Add Job Post.
Note: A single post can only be related to one job board at a time, but there is no limit to how many times a single job can be posted to a board (either internal or external).
Alternatively, you can click the Ellipsis icon by an existing job post and select Duplicate to create a copy to add to your internal job board.
Navigate to the Post To field and select your internal job board from the dropdown menu.
Configure the following job post details:
- Description box including the image and video
- Pay transparency fields
- Basic application information (personal information and education)
- Custom application question
- Settings
Click Save when finished.
The new job post appears on the Job Posts tab.
Toggle the Status button to Live.
Click the arrow icon to view the live job post on your job board.
Once you've created your new job post, you might wish to set that post as the job's primary job post. Click here to learn more.
