Tasks are individual assignable actions performed by either new hires and / or select members of your organization during the onboarding process. In this article, we will cover how to:

The difference between the two ways of adding a new task in Greenhouse Onboarding is that the former will apply to all future onboarding new hires (who match the relevant criteria) and the latter adds the new task a la carte to the individual new hire only.

Add a new task to onboarding plan

To add a new task to your organization's onboarding plan, click Settings from the navigation bar. Navigate to the Onboarding Plan section in the left and click Tasks.

From the Tasks page, click Add Task.

Use the subsequent box to configure the new task. Provide details for the following fields:

Name The name of the task. This will be visible by both other users with the appropriate permissions to configure tasks and the assignee.
Task category Every task must be categorized into one of the 4 key categories in Greenhouse Onboarding: Build Relationships, Job Training, Know the Company, or Logistics.
Details (optional) An optional field where your organization can provide the assignee with additional information regarding the task.
Due date The date that the assignee should have the task completed. Due dates can be configured to be on the new hire's start date, a custom date, or have no due date.
Who is responsible for this task? The assignee of the task.
Assign date The date that the assignee is notified that the task needs to be completed
Required attachments Check if the assignee needs to attach a document to the task
Filter criteria Use these fields to only have the task assigned to new hires that match the criteria you designate. new hires who do not fit the criteria will not be assigned the task.
Add attachment Click to add any attachment the assignee will need.

When finished, click Save and Close.

The new task will be added to your organization's onboarding plan!

Add a new task for individual new hire

Note: Adding a new task to an individual's onboarding plan does not impact your company's overall onboarding plan.

To add a new task to an individual's onboarding plan, find your new hire via the Search bar.

From the new hire's profile, click Tasks and then click Create a New Task.

Use the subsequent dialog box to configure the new task. Provide details for the following fields:

Name The name of the task. This will be visible by both other users with the appropriate permissions to configure tasks and the assignee.
Task Category Every task must be categorized into one of the 4 key categories in Greenhouse Onboarding: Build Relationships, Job Training, Know the Company, or Logistics.
