Voice AI fraud detection

When fraud detection is turned on, Voice AI can display a candidate fraud warning and a resume authenticity assessment alongside a candidate's interview results. These assessments highlight signals that may be worth a closer look, so your team can decide where to focus additional review.

What fraud detection shows

When Voice AI fraud detection is enabled for your company, Voice AI may display two assessments on a candidate's interview results:

  • Candidate fraud warning: A ranked assessment of signals that may indicate the candidate isn't who they claim to be.
  • Resume authenticity: An assessment of signals that may indicate the candidate's resume isn't accurate or genuine.

Assessment levels

Each assessment is labeled with one of the following levels:

  • Low
  • Moderate
  • High
  • Critical

A higher level means Voice AI found more signals worth reviewing. It doesn't confirm that fraud occurred.

How fraud detection affects interview scores

Voice AI Fraud detection assessments are only informational. They don't change a candidate's interview score, and they don't automatically reject or advance a candidate.

Use fraud detection results

To view the results, select Fraud detection from the left hand menu when viewing a candidate. Review the Candidate Fraud Warning.

If the candidate submitted a resume, it will also be analyzed for fraud. The Resume Authenticity report will contain a summary, a list of findings, and a list of additional observations.

Treat Voice AI's fraud detection results as signals for human review, not as a hiring decision. If a candidate receives an elevated assessment, consider reviewing the interview recording and transcript, the candidate's application materials, and any other information your team has before taking action.

Note: Fraud indicators can be imperfect. A Low assessment doesn't guarantee a candidate is genuine, and a High or Critical assessment doesn't confirm fraud.

Always consider these results alongside other evidence, and don't make hiring decisions based on results alone.

Voice AI fraud detection is separate from these related features:

  • Voice AI cheat detection: Looks for signs that a candidate may be receiving outside help during the interview. For more information, see Voice AI Cheat Detection.
  • Real Talent Fraud Detection: Application-level fraud detection in Greenhouse Recruiting. It works independently of Voice AI. For more information, see Fraud Detection.

Configuration

Voice AI fraud detection can be turned on or off per AI interview. Select the interview you'd like to edit, then scroll to the Integrity section of the settings page. Toggle Fraud detection on or off for that interview.
