Frequently asked questions
Can I customize onboarding goals for my new hires?
Greenhouse analyzed how customers achieved successful onboarding experiences and used this data to create common goals that provide structure and clear objectives in a new hire's first 30 days.
We've provided 14 pre-defined goals that hiring managers and Owners can select from when managing new hire goals. When you create new hire goals for the first time, you'll see five default goals that we recommend for a well-rounded onboarding experience. You can customize this experience by adding, editing, or deleting any of the 14 pre-defined goals.
Customize your new hire's goals in the following ways:
- Add goals from a pre-defined list of new hire goals
- Edit the description of your new hire goals
- Change the order of your new hire goals
- Delete new hire goals
Note: Goal names cannot be customized.
Can I create onboarding goals in bulk?
Not at this time. Goals are created individually for each new hire from their employee profile.
Can I use my job kickoff form responses when creating new hire goals in Greenhouse Onboarding?
Yes! If the hiring manager submitted a job kickoff form for a new hire's role in Greenhouse Recruiting, their responses to "New hire goals" kickoff questions will be available in Greenhouse Onboarding. You can use job kickoff responses to guide you when creating onboarding goals for your new hire.
Can I copy existing onboarding goals or create goal templates?
You'll need to copy existing onboarding goals descriptions manually to duplicate them for another new hire. We recommend copying and storing commonly used goals in a safe location. You can paste these goals into Greenhouse Onboarding each time you set a new hire's goals.
Onboarding goal templates are not available at this time.
Will I receive email notifications and reminders related to new hire goals?
Greenhouse Onboarding offers three email notifications related to onboarding goals that users with Owner permissions can turn on in Settings.
Use these email notifications to notify hiring managers when it's time to create onboarding goals and to remind new hires when it's time to update the status of their goals.
Can I update my new hire's existing goals?
Yes! You can edit existing goal descriptions, add new goals, or delete goals at any time from a new hire's employee profile. Learn more about editing onboarding goals.
