Greenhouse Recruiting's integration with allows you to seamlessly add’s Smart Interviewer to a job interview plan. A connection is also created to indicate if a candidate has been hired or rejected. This allows to learn your recruiting habits and provide even more accurate recommendations.

Only users with basic and above permissions who can manage ALL organization's API credentials can complete these steps.

Create a Harvest API key for the Greenhouse/ integration

To create a Harvest API key for the integration, click on the Configure icon  in the upper right-hand corner. Navigate to Dev Center on the left-hand panel.

From the Dev Center page, click API Credential Management.

From the API Credential Management page, click Create New API Key.

In the Create New Credential dialog box, make the following selections, then click Manage Permissions:

  • API Type = Harvest
  • Partner (if applicable) = Sapia
  • Description = Sapia API


In the subsequent dialog box, click Copy to save your API key to your clipboard. Store the API key in a secure location to provide to in the next step.

Click I have stored the API Key once you have copied and saved the key.

On the subsequent page, confirm the tick box is selected for the following four permissions and then click Save at the bottom of the page.

Applications GET: Retrieve Application

Candidates GET: Retrieve Candidate

Users GET: Retrieve User

Jobs GET: Retrieve Jobs

Your Harvest API key for the integration is now created and correctly configured.

Enable the Greenhouse/ integration

Contact your representative or support team and ask them to enable the Greenhouse integration and confirm which stage needs to be activated. You will need to provide your Harvest API Key created in the steps above. will advise you on how to do this securely. will securely provide you with a separate API key in return. Once this is received, click here to open a ticket with Greenhouse Technical Support, asking for the integration to be enabled. Let them know which stage to enable within the ticket.

Greenhouse Technical Support will provide a SendSafely link where you can enter the API key provided by A notification will be sent to the Greenhouse Technical Support team after you have entered your API key, and they will email you to confirm that your API key has been set up in your account and your integration is enabled.

Add the stage to an interview plan

Once the integration is enabled for your organization, you will be able to add as an interview stage.

To add an interview stage to an existing job, navigate to your job (All Jobs > Job Name) and click Job Setup.

Select Interview Plan on the left side of the page and click Add stage.

From the Add Stage dialog box, select the correct Sapia stage (US, EU, or AU). When finished, click Add to apply the stage to the job's interview plan.

When you return to the Interview Plan page, you can drag and drop the Sapia stage to the correct place in the hiring process.

Edit the Basic Application Information for the job post

Navigate to your job (All Jobs > Job Name) and click Job Setup.

Click on Job Posts and then click the edit Edit icon icon.

Scroll down the page until you find Basic Application Information and ensure the required radio button for the phone number is selected.


You can also change the Basic Application Information in bulk for a number of active jobs. Just follow these steps to find out more.

Send a interview to a candidate

You can send an interview to a candidate by selecting the Send Test button next to the interview stage.

In the subsequent dialog box, select the correct test from the dropdown list, and select who should review the result.

An email will then be sent to the candidate with a request to complete the interview. Greenhouse will display Sent next to the interview stage.

View the candidate interview result

Once the candidate has submitted their interview, a score will be presented in the candidate record. Depending on your notification settings, you may also receive an email notification from Greenhouse.

Click on the Sapia stage to open the Interview Kit.

On the subsequent page, you will be able to find further information, including the recommendation (Yes/Maybe/No) and if plagiarism or profanity was detected.

Click on View Report to view the interview answers provided and an in-depth insights report.
