PeopleG2's services range from employment screening and background checks to more strategic and advanced Human Capital Due Diligence services like Executive Screening. The Greenhouse Recruiting / PeopleG2 integration allows you to automatically take newly-hired candidates from Greenhouse Recruiting and add them to PeopleG2.

Retrieve your Endpoint URL and Secret Key from PeopleG2

To link your Greenhouse Recruiting account, contact PeopleG2 Customer Success for an Endpoint URL and a Secret Key you will need to get started. Once you have both of those items, complete the following steps to link your accounts.

Create a Harvest API key for the PeopleG2 integration

To configure the Greenhouse Recruiting / PeopleG2 integration, you'll need to create a Harvest API key.

Follow the steps in this article to create the key, and verify that the credentials and permissions below are selected when configuring the PeopleG2 integration.

Credentials

In the Create New Credential box, make the following selections:

  • API type: Harvest
  • Partner: PeopleG2
  • Description: PeopleG2 Harvest API key

Permissions

Contact PeopleG2 for a list of permissions that must be selected for this integration.

Create a webhook

To integrate PeopleG2 with Greenhouse Recruiting, you'll need to create a webhook. Follow the steps in this article to create your webhook. Use the values listed below to configure the webhooks.

  • Name: A descriptive name for your integration. Most customers choose 'PeopleG2 integration'
  • When: Candidate has changed stage
  • Endpoint URL: The Endpoint URL provided by your PeopleG2 representative
  • Advanced Settings:
    • Username and Password: The Secret Key provided by your PeopleG2 representative 
    • Disabled: No

Create custom candidate fields 

This portion of the configuration allows PeopleG2 to provide Background Check status, a link to the Background Check report (when applicable), and the date the report is completed.

Create three custom candidate fields using the following options.

Field 1: Background check status

  • Field name: Background Check Status
  • Type: Short textbox

Field 2: Background check completed date

  • Field name: Background Check Completed Date
  • Type: Short textbox

Field 3: Background check result

  • Field name: Background Check Result
  • Type: URL

Create custom job fields

When you send a candidate to PeopleG2 for a background check, you'll need to select the applicable package and location necessary to complete the Background Check.

Create two custom job fields using the following options

Field 1: Background Check Package

  • Field Name: Background Check Package
  • Type: Single select
  • Options: All your screening packages on individual lines
  • Required: Yes

Field 2: Background Check Package

  • Field Name: Background Check Location
  • Type: Single select
  • Options: All your locations on individual lines
  • Required: Yes

Use the PeopleG2 integration

Once a background check is initiated through Greenhouse Recruiting, a request to complete the background check will be sent to the candidate’s email.

The candidate will complete the required fields and sign off on the consent. PeopleG2 receives the request, then will send an update to Greenhouse Recruiting that the order is in progress. Once the report is completed in the deverus platform, a status update is sent to Greenhouse Recruiting with the results report.

After using the integration, you may decide you want to share more information between Greenhouse Recruiting and PeopleG2. If you would like additional information transferred over, please reach out to PeopleG2 Customer Success with a list of items to add.
