It can be challenging to determine which interviewers should be handling which interviews if there are dozens (or even hundreds) of interviewers across multiple departments and offices in your organization.
Example: Some interviewers may be better than others at performing a cultural add interview, while others are better at grading take-home tests.
Interviewer tags allow you to quickly identify and segment interviewers using custom labels that are unique to your organization.
Create an interviewer tag
To create a new interviewer tag, click the Configure icon in the upper right corner and select Custom Options from the left panel.
Navigate to the Company Metadata section and click Interviewer Tags.
Click Create New Interviewer Tag on the Manage Interview Tags page.
Name the tag in the available field. When you're finished, click Create Interviewer Tag.
Delete an interviewer tag
Note: When an interview tag is deleted, it will be automatically removed from all users and can't be assigned to new users. When you delete a tag, you can reassign the currently tagged users to another existing tag. However, once it's deleted, an interview tag can't be restored.
Click Remove next to the interviewer tag you want to delete.
Select whether or not you'd like currently tagged users to be assigned to a new tag by selecting an option in the window. If you're reassigning users to a new tag, select it from the dropdown menu.
Note: Users can only be reassigned to an existing tag. If you need to assign users to a brand new tag, create it before deleting the current tag.
Click Delete Interviewer Tag.
When you select interview tags in this field, users with the chosen tags will appear in the potential interviewer list when users schedule that interview.
Merge duplicate interviewer tags
Greenhouse Recruiting doesn't allow you to directly merge two duplicate interview tags. However, by deleting one tag and reassigning current users to the second tag, you can simplify any repeated interviewer tags in your organization.
You can update interview tags on the Interview Tags page. (Configure icon > Custom Options > Interview Tags)
To reassign a tag, click Remove next to the tag that you want to delete.
Select the duplicate tag in the I want any entity using this interviewer tag to use this instead field.
When you're finished, click Delete Interviewer Tag.
Assign or unassign an interviewer tag
Assign an interviewer tag to a user
Note: Interviewer tags can be assigned or unassigned by Site Admins and Job Admins who can add and remove users from their assigned jobs.
To assign an Interviewer Tag to a user in your organization, you'll need to modify a user's profile. (Configure icon > Users > select a user from the list)
Scroll down to the Interviewer Tags section. Select a tag from the dropdown or click Configure Interviewer tags to add a new tag.
Note: A user can be assigned multiple interviewer tags.
When you finish, scroll to the bottom of the section and click Save user details.
Remove an interviewer tag from a user
To remove an interview tag from someone's account, click the X icon next to a tag to remove it.
Scroll to the bottom of the section and click Save user details.
Find tagged interviewers when scheduling an interview
After you have assigned Interviewer Tags to users, you can set default interviewer tags when modifying an interview kit.
