Available for all current subscription tiers (Core, Plus, and Pro) with the Real Talent add‑on.

If you don’t see Real Talent in your account, contact your Greenhouse representative to learn more.

Real Talent is an add‑on suite that helps you reduce fraud, cut down on spam, and focus on qualified candidates in Greenhouse Recruiting.

Real Talent includes four key features:

  • Identity verification with CLEAR®: Confirms that candidates are who they say they are using Greenhouse's partnership with CLEAR.
  • Fraud detection: Flags unusual or risky application patterns so your team can focus on real candidates.
  • Spam blocklist: Helps keep your outreach focused on genuine candidates and protect your pipeline from malicious or risky outreach.
  • Talent Matching: An AI‑assisted feature in the Real Talent suite that surfaces candidates who are a strong fit for your jobs based on your defined criteria and weighted calibration.

Depending on which features you’re using, you’ll need to adjust some settings in Greenhouse Recruiting. Follow the sections below to get Real Talent set up.

For a high‑level summary of each Real Talent feature and links to all related guides, see Real Talent overview.

Real Talent settings page

Most settings for the Real Talent beta can be configured under Configure > Real Talent.

Users must be a Site Admin to access this page.

CLEAR setup

Configure settings

To begin, go to the Real Talent settings page. From there, update your offices and departments to specify where you want to enable CLEAR identity verification.

Once enabled, candidates in those offices or departments will go through CLEAR’s identity verification process as part of their application.

Update permissions

Next, update the Job Admin permissions for your users who will be responsible for sending and receiving CLEAR ID verifications.

  • Can view identity verification details: Able to see CLEAR results when they are received from a candidate.
  • Can request identity verification details: Able to send CLEAR identity requests to the candidate

Read more about sending CLEAR identity verification requests.

Spam blocklist setup

The IP address and email domain blocklist can be configured on Configure > Real Talent > Spam. For step‑by‑step instructions and guardrails, see Spam blocklist setup

For detailed enablement and calibration steps, see the following articles:

Configure AI disclaimers and candidate AI opt-out

Some jurisdictions may require candidate disclosures and/or alternatives to AI‑assisted review. If your organization enables candidate AI opt‑out, candidates can request manual review instead of AI‑assisted review on a per‑job basis.

To manage AI transparency language for job posts, use Configure > Real Talent > Talent Matching  or click Open settings on the AI Tools page.

Click the Edit button.

Note on GDPR

If your organization operates under GDPR regulations, make sure to update your GDPR data retention rules for Real Talent features. In particular, review the Data to be Deleted settings to ensure they include CLEAR identity data, Spam blocklist data, and Talent Matching match scores and reasoning, so that candidate information is deleted appropriately when requested or when your configured retention period expires.
