Configure Your Next Steps Delivery Schedule


The Your Next Steps email is a follow-up email sent from Greenhouse Onboarding to the New Hire after they have been assigned an onboarding plan. In the email, New Hires will receive a summary of who their manager is and tasks that need their attention.

By default, the Your Next Steps email is delivered 30 days prior to a New Hire's start date, but it can be configured to suit your organization's onboarding flow. In this article, we will cover how to configure a delivery schedule on:

Note: The configured delivery schedule will apply to both the default Your Next Steps email and any additional Your Next Steps templates your team creates.

Click Settings from your navigation bar. On the Settings page, expand the Onboarding Plan section on the left-hand panel and select Emails.


From the Emails page, navigate to the Your next steps section and click Edit default delivery.


The delivery schedule for the Your Next Step email can be configured from the subsequent dialog box.



On Start Date

To set a delivery schedule for a New Hire's start date, select On Start Date from the Send email to new hire dropdown menu.

Click Save and Close when finished.



Custom Delivery Schedule

To set a delivery schedule prior to or after a New Hire's start date, select Custom from the Send email to new hire dropdown menu.


User the provided fields to select whether the Your Next Steps email will be sent Before or After the New Hire's start date and how many days before/after.

Click Save and Close when finished.
