The 'Welcome to the team' email is an introductory email sent from Greenhouse Onboarding to a new hire after they've been assigned an onboarding plan. In this email, new hires receive a link to start setting up their onboarding account and a summary of their assigned manager and department.
By default, the 'Welcome to the team' email is delivered two days prior to a new hire's start date, but you can configure this schedule to suit your organization's preferred onboarding flow. This article covers how to configure or deactivate the delivery schedule for the 'Welcome to the team' email.
Note: This schedule will apply to both your default 'Welcome to the team' email and any custom 'Welcome to the team' email variations.
Edit 'Welcome to the team' delivery schedule
From your Greenhouse Onboarding homepage, navigate to Settings > Onboarding Plan > Emails.
Scroll to Welcome to the team, then click Edit default delivery.
Deliver email on a new hire's start date
Use the Send email to new hire dropdown to select On Start Date.
Click Save and Close when you're done.
Your default 'Welcome to the team' email or custom email variations will be sent on a new hire's assigned start date at 7 am in the new hire's time zone.
Deliver email on a custom date
Use the Send email to new hire dropdown to select Custom.
Next, select how many days before or after a new hire's start date that you want to send this email.
Click Save and Close when you're done.
Your default 'Welcome to the team' email or custom email variations will be sent on your configured date at 7 am in the new hire's time zone.
Deactivate 'Welcome to the team' email delivery
Use the Send email to new hire to select Never.
Click Save and Close when you're done.
Your default ' Welcome to the team' email and custom email variations will no longer be sent to new hires who join your organization. You can re-enable delivery for this email at any time.
