Verifile’s integration with Greenhouse Recruiting allows you to seamlessly order and track a candidate’s background check.

Enable the Verifile integration

Contact your Verifile Customer Success Manager to request an API key for the integration. Once received, follow the steps in this article to add Verifile as an assessment stage. 

Create a Harvest API key

Next, you’ll need to create a Harvest API key. Verifile will need your Greenhouse user ID and a harvest API key.  The harvest API is optional. It is required when Verifile needs the candidate’s CV or resume to complete the background check. If unsure, ask Verifile if the harvest API key is required. 

Follow the steps in this article to create the key, and verify that the permissions below are selected when configuring the Verifile integration.

Credentials

In the Create New Credential box, make the following selections:

  • API Type: Harvest
  • Partner: Verifile or Unlisted Vendor
  • Description: Verifile Harvest API Key

Permissions

Verify that the following permissions are selected for the Verifile integration: 

  • Candidates
    • GET: Retrieve Candidate

Once you’ve set up your interview plans and configured your take home test, you’ll be able to send the Verifile background check as a test to candidates.

Use the Verifile integration with Greenhouse Recruiting

Once the Verifile integration is enabled for your organization, you will be able to add the Verifile assessment as an interview stage.

You may need to provide additional data before sending the Verifile assessment. This data must be added in the “Application custom fields” section of the “Application details” tab. 

If the background check package you will order includes a standard or enhanced DBS check, you must select a value from the “Verifile DBS Job Role” drop down list. 

If the package includes a basic DBS check, you must select a value from the “Verifile DBS Purpose of Check” and “Verifile DBS Employment Sector” drop down lists. 

To place an order under a sub account that you have set up on the Verifile system, select the sub account name from the “Verifile Sub Company” list. 

You can send an assessment to a candidate by selecting the Send Test button next to the interview stage.

Note: When you send a test in Greenhouse Recruiting, the instructions are actually sent by Verifile.

After it has been sent, an assessment’s status will display in Greenhouse Recruiting.

Once the candidate has submitted their test, the Interview Kit will contain a link to view the submitted test in the Verifile application. 

To see a candidate’s results, click View Report .
