The candidate profile is one of the most important pages in Greenhouse. It's where recruiters, hiring managers, and the rest of the hiring team come together to participate in structured hiring. It's at the heart of any company's hiring strategy as the place where the majority of the work gets done.
Below, we’ll walk you through the key updates and new layout so you can make the most of the redesigned candidate profile.
Introducing the redesign
To improve the usability of the profile and create a foundation for future enhancements, we’ve streamlined navigation, optimized key workflows, and introduced more intuitive design elements.
The previous experience could feel visually overwhelming, making it difficult to quickly identify key actions and affecting overall usability. With the redesigned candidate profile, we aimed to enhance focus and simplicity by intuitively grouping information, empowering you to excel at hiring.
New to the candidate profile
We’ve made it a priority to listen closely to your feedback throughout the redesign. Since the initial launch, we’ve gathered insights, made improvements, and refined the candidate profile to better meet your hiring needs. Our goal is to provide an experience that feels intuitive and empowers you to excel at every step of the hiring process.
Here are some key updates and ease-of-use improvements in the redesigned candidate profile:
- Shifted to an accordion display to view all interview stages at once
- Added pin and filter options for notes to provide quick access to important information
- Moved tasks and reminders to the right panel for a more organized main view
- Enhanced visibility of candidate availability in the main panel
- Introduced keyboard shortcuts to quickly navigate the profile
We pulled out crucial information from the previous experience's hidden tabs and put it front and center on the new profile within one of the three new sections.
New sections on the candidate profile
Header
The most important candidate information is at the top of the page: the candidate's name, their pronouns, and any identifying tags. Important actions that move the candidate through the hiring process, like marking them as hired, are available in the header. Quickly go back to the job the candidate is associated with using the navigation at the top.
The header provides quick access to other actions, such as emailing candidates or transferring them to another job.
Using the new keyboard shortcuts, press R to access the candidate's resume.
Main panel
View all the interview stages and expand them to schedule interviews, send reminders, and get a sneak peek at decisions from the interviewer's scorecard.
The menu on the left allows you to switch the view to scorecards, offer details, and the activity feed.
Right panel
Everything you need to know about the candidate is stored in the right panel. We've added tabs to the candidate profile to categorize application details, the candidate's job history, notes to your team, and tasks to complete to keep the hiring process moving forward.
Some information associated with the candidate may be sensitive. This information can be hidden by toggling on Private mode at the top of the panel.
If you need more space to work on the main panel, collapse the right panel by clicking any of the tabs.
For a more comprehensive view of each panel of the new experience, including a quick start guide, read our article on using the new candidate profile.
Note: Some features, such as filtering and pinning notes, are exclusive to the new experience.

How are Tasks in the new candidate profile different from My Tasks on the My Dashboard page?
The My Tasks section of the My Dashboard page shows your tasks from all your assigned jobs.
In the new candidate profile, Tasks are in the right panel. These tasks are not assigned to any specific user. They can be seen by anyone assigned to the job.
