Ferretly offers social media background checks for candidates that leverage artificial intelligence and human analysis to surface specific behaviors from publicly available social media posts and web/news posts. The Ferretly report provides key insight into candidate character, ensuring they align with your corporate values.
Ferretly’s integration with Greenhouse Recruiting allows you to seamlessly add Social media background checks to a job's interview plan.
Enable the Ferretly Integration
Follow the steps in this article to retrieve your API key from your Ferretly representative and add the assessment stage to your interview plans.
Next, follow the steps in this article to create a Harvest API key, and verify that the permissions below are selected when configuring the Ferretly integration.
Credentials
In the Create New Credential box, make the following selections:
- API Type: Harvest
- Partner: Ferretly or Unlisted Vendor
- Description: Ferretly Harvest API Key
Permissions
Verify that the following permissions are selected for the Ferretly integration:

Applications
- Get: Retrieve Application
- Get: List Applications

Candidates
- Get: Retrieve Candidate
- Patch: Edit Candidate
Use the Ferretly integration with Greenhouse Recruiting
Once the Ferretly integration is enabled for your organization, you can add the Ferretly social media check as an interview stage.
You can initiate the check for a candidate by selecting the Send Test button next to the interview stage.
Note: When you send a test in Greenhouse Recruiting, the candidate is not notified. Instead, a subject is created in your Ferretly portal. If you have Analyst Assistance, a Ferretly Analyst will run the Ferretly social media screening, and results will be sent to Greenhouse upon completion.
After it has been sent, an assessment’s status will be displayed in Greenhouse Recruiting.
When the social media screening has been completed, the assessment’s status will be updated:
The Interview Kit will contain a link to view the results. To see a candidate’s results in Ferretly, click View Report .
