Greenhouse Recruiting's integration with Fortay allows you to seamlessly add an assessment to your interview pipeline.

Set up the Fortay Integration

To enable the integration, refer the steps in this article to retrieve your API key from your Fortay representative and set up the assessment stage on your job's interview plans.

Once you've enabled the integration and set up your take-home test, you'll be able to send the test to candidates in Greenhouse Recruiting.

Create a Harvest API key

To begin setup, you’ll need to create a Harvest API key.

Follow the steps in this article to create the key, and verify that the permissions below are selected when configuring the Fortay integration.

Credentials

In the Create New Credential box, make the following selections:

  • API Type: Harvest
  • Partner: Fortay or Unlisted Vendor
  • Description: Fortay Harvest API Key

Permissions

Verify that the following permissions are selected for the Fortay integration:

Applications

  • DELETE: Delete application
  • GET: Retrieve application
  • GET: List applications
  • PATCH: Update application
  • POST: Advance application
  • POST: Move application
  • POST: Reject application
  • POST: Moves application to job
  • POST: Unreject application
  • POST: Hire application
  • POST: Add attachment to application
  • PATCH: Update a rejected application's rejection reason
  • PATCH: Convert a prospect

Candidates

  • DELETE: Delete candidate
  • GET: Retrieve candidate
  • GET: List candidates
  • PATCH: Edit candidate
  • POST: Add candidate
  • POST: Add attachment
  • POST: Add application
  • PUT: Anonymize candidate
  • POST: Add note
  • PUT: Merge two candidates
  • POST: Add education
  • DELETE: Delete education
  • POST: Add employment
  • DELETE: Delete employment
  • POST: Add E-mail
  • POST: Add prospect

When finished, click Save.

Your Harvest API key for the Fortay integration is created and configured. Copy the Harvest API key to provide to Fortay in the next step.

Provide your API credentials to Fortay

After configuring your API credentials, you'll need to provide the key to Fortay. 

Navigate to your Fortay account and from the Manage drop-down menu, select Integrations.

On the Integrations page, paste the copied key in the API key from Greenhouse field and then, click Save.

Next, click Click to Show to reveal the Fortay API key to provide to Greenhouse support to enable the Fortay assessment stage. This key will continue to be accessible using the Integrations page.

Note: Do NOT click on Generate New Token unless instructed by Fortay support.

Configure an Integration service user (ISU) and complete setup

To allow the Fortay integration the transfer of candidate documents, a user is required for auditing purposes. Follow the steps in this article to create a new user or follow the steps below. 

Navigate to Configure > Users and select or create a user. Ensure the selected user is assigned as a Site Admin

On the Edit User page, copy the 10-digit sequence in the URL.

Navigate back to Fortay and then, enter the 10-digit sequence in the Site Admin ID field. Save when finished.

Use the Fortay integration with Greenhouse Recruiting

Add the Fortay assessment to your interview plan

Once the Fortay integration is enabled for your organization, you can add the Fortay assessment as an interview stage on your jobs in Greenhouse Recruiting.

As a best practice, Fortay recommends that the Fortay assessment be positioned as early as possible in the candidate interview process.

When candidates are in the stage, you can send an assessment to a candidate by selecting Send Test on their candidate profile next to the interview stage.

Note: When you send a test, the assessment and instructions are sent by Fortay and not Greenhouse Recruiting.

View candidate results 

You can confirm the candidate has received the Fortay assessment on the Candidate Invitations page in Fortay. The Source in Fortay will indicate Greenhouse ATS.

In Greenhouse Recruiting, the “View Report” within the candidate interview kit will link to the candidate results on Fortay where you will be able to view the detailed results and responses.

A PDF copy of the candidate's results will be accessible via Greenhouse under the Details tab of the profile or the Cover Letter tab in the Interview kit per the screenshot below.
