The Google Calendar integration is a time-management and scheduling calendar integration that allows you to create and edit events on your personal or shared calendars directly in Greenhouse Recruiting.

If you're running into issues scheduling or updating events, a few troubleshooting steps can help get you back on track.

Error message when scheduling

If your Google Calendar authentication expires, you won't be able to schedule an interview in Greenhouse Recruiting. Instead, you'll receive an error message: "Sorry, but we ran into an error loading this page."

To fix this issue, disconnect and reconnect the Google Calendar integration.

Disconnect and reconnect Google Calendar

To disconnect the integration, click Integrations on your navigation bar, then select Google Calendar under Manage integrations.

Click Disconnect.

After you disconnect the integration, click Connect.

You'll be redirected to a Google login page.

Choose your account. Enter your username and password, and follow the steps to reconnect.

Note: Use the Google login credentials associated with the calendar on which you schedule.

Click Allow after reviewing the required permissions.

After the integration is reconnected, navigate to a candidate profile and schedule the interview as normal.

If the issue persists, reach out to Greenhouse Technical Support.

Only 'Open in Google' appears when scheduling

If you're unable to send an invite from Greenhouse Recruiting, you may need to connect the Google Calendar integration.

Tip: If the integration is already connected, try disconnecting and reconnecting.

If you're still unable to send an invite, you may have the wrong calendar selected.

To resolve this issue, navigate to a candidate that requires scheduling and click Schedule Interview.

Click Configure at the top-right of the scheduling page to open your calendar settings.

From the Calendar Type dropdown menu, select Google.

From the Calendar Name dropdown, select the calendar name on which you wish to schedule.

Tip: If the calendar isn't in the dropdown, you may need to request permission to the calendar. Check out Share your calendar with someone.

Click Save, and continue scheduling as normal.

Click Send Invites.
