Woven is the only technical assessment that uses real-world engineering scenarios to give you insight beyond code, including debugging, architecture, and communication. Real engineers will evaluate each candidate’s work and provide a detailed analysis, and the candidate gets individual feedback on how they did.

Greenhouse Recruiting’s integration with Woven allows you to seamlessly embed Woven's technical assessments in your interview plan. Your engineering team will save time and interview with more confidence that you’re speaking with complete engineers whose skills meet the mark.

Create a Harvest API key for the Greenhouse/Woven integration

To configure the Greenhouse Recruiting / Woven integration, you'll need to create a Harvest API key.

Follow the steps in this article to create the key, and verify that the credentials and permissions below are selected when configuring the Woven integration.

Credentials

In the Create New Credential box, make the following selections:

  • API Type: Harvest
  • Partner: Woven (optional)
  • Description: Woven Harvest API Key

Permissions

Verify that the following permissions are selected for the Woven integration:

Candidates

  • GET: Retrieve Candidate
  • GET: List Candidates
  • POST: Add Note

Job Stages

  • GET: List Job Stages
  • GET: List Job Stages for Job

Jobs

  • GET: List Jobs

Users

  • GET: List Users

Click Save when finished. Your Harvest API key for the Greenhouse/Woven integration is created and configured. Provide your Harvest API key to Woven so they can set up the integration.

Enable Woven as an assessment partner in Greenhouse

Once the Greenhouse/Woven integration is enabled for your organization, you can get a Woven API key in the hiring dashboard. Visit Settings → ATS Integration and click Generate under Woven Integration API Key.

Once you have your API key, you will need to send it to Greenhouse to enable Woven for Assessments. Fill out the form at www.greenhouse.io/asksupport or click here to open a ticket. Ask Greenhouse to enable the Woven integration, but do not send them your API key yet.

The Greenhouse Technical Support team will respond with a SendSafely link for you to enter your API key. The Greenhouse Technical Support team will then email you to confirm that your API key has been set up in your account and the integration is enabled.

Add the Woven stage to job’s interview plan

Once the Greenhouse/Woven Assessments integration is enabled for your organization, you will be able to add the Woven work simulation as an Interview stage.

To do this for an existing job, navigate to a job (All Jobs>Job Name). Click Job Setup from the left-side navigation bar.

From the Job Setup page, click Interview Plan on the left-side panel. Click Add Stage at the top of the Interview Plan page.

From the Add Stage dialog box, select Woven. When finished, click Add to apply the stage to the job's interview plan.

Configure the Woven stage

Once the stage has been added to the job's interview plan, click Edit Take Home Test. Use the drop-down menu to choose work simulations that you have previously created or requested from Woven.

Select the appropriate work simulation and assign at least one Greenhouse Recruiting user to review submitted work simulations. When finished, click Save.

Note: Keep in mind that all configuration of the work simulation itself, as well as the email template, will need to be done in Woven.

Send and review the test

When candidates are moved into the Woven interview stage, Greenhouse Recruiting will display a Send Test link.

Note: When you send a test from Greenhouse Recruiting, the interview instructions are actually sent by Woven. Any email template configuration needs to happen in Woven.

The status of the work simulation will be viewable in Greenhouse Recruiting:

Once the candidate has submitted their test, the Interview Kit will contain a link to view the submitted test from Woven.

After you click on the Interview Kit on the candidate’s profile, you’ll be taken to a page where the URL is available to view the Woven recommendation.
