Justifacts has provided employment background screening services with hands-on, personalized support since 1982. Justifacts' services include criminal record checks, employment and education verifications, motor vehicle records, drug testing, identity verification, and ongoing monitoring. Employers can request screenings, track progress, and review results through the Justiweb platform or interact directly via integration, with the ability to contact a dedicated account manager for assistance. From the initial setup to day-to-day questions, the Justifacts team helps clients build screening workflows that reflect their hiring needs, internal policies, and compliance requirements.
Justifacts' integration with Greenhouse Recruiting allows users to initiate and track background check requests directly through the Greenhouse system.
Configure the Justifacts integration
Assessment API (required)
Enable the Greenhouse/Justifacts integration
Follow the steps in this article to retrieve your API key from your Justifacts representative and add the Justifacts assessment stage in your interview plans.
Once you've set up your interview plans and configured your take home test, you'll be able to send the test to candidates.
Retrieve and implement your API key from Justifacts
Once you have requested that your Justifacts sales representative activate the Greenhouse Justifacts Integration, the sales representative will contact you with your API key.
Add Justifacts stage to job's interview plan
Once the Greenhouse/Justifacts integration is enabled for your organization, you will be able to add the Justifacts assessment as an Interview stage.
To do this for an existing job, navigate to a job (All Jobs > Job Name) and click Job Setup from the Job navigation bar.
From the Job Setup page, navigate to Interview Plan on the left-hand panel. Click the Edit stages button.
From the Add Stage dialog box, select the Justifacts stage. When finished, click Add to apply the stage to the job's interview plan, followed by the Add stage button.
Configure Justifacts stage
Once the stage has been added to the job's interview plan, click Edit Interview on the Justifacts stage of the Interview Plan. Use the provided drop-down menu to choose the background screening package that you have previously set up in Justifacts.
Select the appropriate background screening package and assign at least one Greenhouse user to grade/review submitted background checks. When finished, click Save.
Note: Keep in mind that all configuration of the assessment itself, as well as the email template, will need to be done in Justifacts.
Enable the Harvest v3 integration (optional)
The following steps only need to be taken if the user wants Justifacts to automatically retrieve Educations, Employments, or Custom Fields from Greenhouse.
Upon activation of the take home test integration (or by request to your Justifacts Account Manager), the user will receive the following email to activate the Harvest API integration with Justifacts:
Click the Activate Harvest v3 button.
The user will be presented with a screen describing the permissions Justifacts is requesting. Using the provided Email field, log in to approve the requested permissions.
Upon successful completion of the above steps, the user will be directed to the Justifacts login screen.
For Justifacts to retrieve Educations and Employments from Greenhouse, they must be enabled in the user's instance of Greenhouse (not handled by Justifacts).
Optional: If the user wants to enable order contact assignment in Justiweb, the user will need to create a custom field in Greenhouse.
Field name MUST be Order Contact
Options should be added as {Identifier} ({Justiweb username}). First and last name is recommended as {Identifier} but not required. ({Justiweb username}) is required, in shown format, for order contact assignment to work.
The Harvest v3 integration with Justifacts is now ready to use.

Send and review the test
When candidates are moved into the Justifacts interview stage, Greenhouse will display a Send Test link.
Note: When you send a test from Greenhouse, the interview instructions are actually sent by Justifacts.
The status of the assessment will be viewable in Greenhouse:
Once the candidate has submitted their test, the Interview Kit will contain a link to view the submitted test on Justifacts.
After you click on the Interview Kit on the candidate's profile, you can click View Report to view the test results on Justifacts' system.
In order to set a specific order contact in Justiweb for a candidate, select a contact from the Order Contact field previously created in the setup instructions. Educations and Employments will be automatically retrieved, if enabled in Greenhouse.
