Create and train a Voice AI interview

Create an interview by starting from a job description. You'll set the interview questions, describe your ideal candidate, and configure a few settings before the interview is ready to send to candidates.

Upload a job description

Upload a job description as a PDF, DOCX, or DOC file. Voice AI reads the file and pulls out the job title, location, salary, and description automatically.

Already connected to an ATS? Skip this step and import the job directly. See Importing an interview from your ATS.

Review role details

Voice AI auto-fills the role details pulled from your job description. Review each field and select the edit icon next to any field you'd like to change.

Set up interview questions

Generate interview questions automatically or write your own. For each question, you can define:

  • Question: The question text itself.
  • Ideal answers: A rubric of Great, Good, OK, and Poor responses. Voice AI can generate benchmark answers for you, or you can write your own.
  • What should Voice AI listen for: The specific signals or details Voice AI should pick up on when evaluating the candidate's response.
  • Importance: A weight from 1–5 that determines how much this question factors into the overall evaluation.

Drag and drop to reorder questions.

Define the perfect candidate

Describe the traits of your ideal candidate, either by typing them into the text editor or by talking through them in a voice conversation with Voice AI. You can generate an interview question directly from these traits, and hiring managers can contribute their own input to this definition.

Configure interview settings

  • Interview expiry: Set how long the interview link stays active for candidates.
  • Team members: Choose who on your team has access to this interview.
  • Communication analysis weight: Set how much weight communication skills carry in the overall score, from 0–20%.

Warning: Selecting Reset erases all interview settings and can't be undone. This may also break access for candidates who already have an active interview link.

Add additional context

Context documents let Voice AI answer candidate questions accurately during the interview. Voice AI only answers from the context you provide — it won't guess or make up an answer it doesn't have support for.

How to add a document

Upload a document up to 10 MB. Add a short description and a note on how important this document is relative to others.

What makes a good context document?

  • Role details and responsibilities
  • Technical information specific to the role
  • Compensation and benefits information
  • Growth and career path information
  • Role-specific policies

Company-wide vs. interview-specific documents: Documents marked as company-wide apply across all of your interviews, not just the one you're currently setting up.

Consistency check

Voice AI flags contradictions it finds across your uploaded documents and will ask clarifying questions to help you resolve them.

Candidate questions

Commonly asked candidate questions are pre-populated for you, and more are added over time based on questions that come up in completed interviews.

Take a test interview

Preview the live conversation with Voice AI yourself before sending the interview to candidates. Use this step to find any gaps in the context you've provided.

Not a simulated candidate interview: Nothing from your test run is recorded or factored into any analysis.

Set up notifications

  • Get an email alert when a candidate completes the interview.
  • Get alerted in a Slack channel of your choice.

Customize the welcome screen

A default welcome screen is generated from your job description. Replace it with your own rich text, including formatting, links, images, and videos, or select Reset to default to restore the original version.
