TrustCruit is a recruitment analytics and optimization platform that helps organizations improve their hiring process by bringing together data from their Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and other recruitment tools. It provides dashboards, reporting, and insights into every stage of the recruitment funnel, enabling teams to measure performance, identify bottlenecks, evaluate sourcing channels, and make data-driven decisions to optimize hiring outcomes.

TrustCruit's integration with Greenhouse Recruiting enables users to automatically send surveys to candidates when they enter a specified stage of the hiring process.

Authorize the TrustCruit integration

The customer success manager will provide an authentication link, where the access list can be viewed. The customer needs to log in to Greenhouse.

After entering the email, a page appears with an optional checkbox to authenticate with an org-level service account.

Once logged in to Greenhouse, a confirmation shows that the setup is successful.

Configure the TrustCruit integration webhooks

To integrate TrustCruit with Greenhouse Recruiting, you'll need to create a webhook. Follow the steps in this article to create your webhook. Use the values listed below to configure the webhook:

The customer success manager will provide the customer with:

  • Endpoint URLs
  • Secret key

The name should be a descriptive name for your integration. Most customers choose "TrustCruit <survey type>".

Depending on the survey types required, configure the following webhooks:

  • Webhook #1: Application
    • Event: Candidate has submitted application
    • Used for: Step 1 – Application
  • Webhook #2: Interview
    • Event: Candidate has changed stage
    • Used for: Step 2 – Interview
    • Important: The customer must define which job stage represents "Interview completed" (for example, Interview Conducted).
  • Webhook #3: Rejection
    • Event: Candidate or Prospect rejected
    • Used for: Step 5 – Rejection
    • Important: The customer must confirm which rejection reasons should trigger a survey (for example, exclude "Duplicate").
  • Webhook #4: Hired
    • Event: Candidate has been hired
    • Used for: Step 3 – Hired, Step 4 – Onboarding, and Hiring Manager step 1

Onboarding and Hiring Manager surveys are triggered from the "Candidate hired" event.

Use the TrustCruit integration

The TrustCruit integration does not require any additional actions in Greenhouse once it's set up — it triggers automatically on application creation and application stage changes. Most of the setup is done on the TrustCruit side by the customer success manager.

As an example, say the following rejection reasons are set up to receive a rejection survey:

Example rejection reasons configured to trigger a rejection survey

When a candidate is rejected in Greenhouse, a webhook is sent to TrustCruit. If the rejection matches one of the specified reasons, TrustCruit sends the candidate an email with a survey containing questions like:

The collected data can then be viewed in the TrustCruit dashboard.
