Hirevue's integration with Greenhouse Recruiting allows you to seamlessly add Hirevue assessments or interviews to a job's interview plan.

Configure the Hirevue t2o integration

  • Your Hirevue Integration Consultant will provide you with an activation link through HireVue's Enhanced Integration Platform.
  • Your company's Greenhouse Site admin will then access this link to activate the integration.

    Click the link to log into your Greenhouse account.

    Enter your email address associated with your Greenhouse account.

    Check the box to Authorize using a service account and then select Authorize.

    Next you will be asked to enter your URL for your Greenhouse site then click Continue.

    Next you will be provided with the Hirevue Stage name and API key. These will need to be collected and provided to your Greenhouse support representative to finish setting up the Assessment Integration.

Follow the steps in this article once you have the HireVue API key to add the assessment stage in your interview plans.

There are two available stages for HireVue integration. Customers must confirm with HireVue which specific stage should be enabled for their organization: HireVue [new - EU/AU] or HireVue [new - US].

Once you've set up your interview plans and configured your take home test, you'll be able to send the test to candidates.

Use the Hirevue/Greenhouse integration

To create available assessments to select in Greenhouse, first create the appropriate Job Templates in the Hirevue platform.

Set up the stages and types of assessments/interviews that will be used to evaluate candidates for your job or jobs. If using multiple stages you will select Manual as the advancement option as secondary stages are triggered from status changes within Greenhouse. There will be an additional step to set up secondary stages as available assessment packages in Greenhouse.

If you will be using multiple stages in your Hirevue workflows, then you will need to set up some dummy templates to be placeholders for additional stages. These packages will be used across templates. During initial set up, create as many dummy stages as you think you might leverage in a workflow. Typically this is no more than 2-3 stages. The naming convention of the job templates should be HIREVUE-STAGE-X and X being the stage number such as 2 or 3.

You will be all set to select packages in Greenhouse.

Add HireVue stage to job's interview plan

Once the Greenhouse/HireVue integration is enabled for your organization, you will be able to add the HireVue assessment as an Interview stage.

Note: HireVue requires a Recruiter to be identified as part of the Hiring Team. A single recruiter must be identified as active and responsible for the job. If more than one recruiter is identified as responsible for the job, HireVue will select the first recruiter in the list.

Configure HireVue stage

Once the stage has been added to the job's interview plan, click Edit Take Home Test. Use the provided drop-down menu to choose assessments that you have previously set up in HireVue.

Select the appropriate assessment and assign at least one Greenhouse user to grade/review submitted assessments. When finished, click Save.

Note: Keep in mind that all configuration of the assessment itself, as well as the email template, will need to be done in HireVue.

Send and review the test

You can send an assessment to a candidate by selecting the Send Test button next to the interview stage.

Note: When you send a test in Greenhouse Recruiting, the instructions are actually sent by Hirevue.

Automation option – send candidates automatically when they reach a stage in the interview plan

Set up stages for Hirevue by selecting the Hirevue stage(s). Rename secondary stage if using multiple stages. Select the test that will be sent to the candidate.

Once your job is created you can set up Stage Transition rules if you wish to automate sending the Assessment/Interview.

After it has been sent, an assessment's status will display in Greenhouse Recruiting.

Once the candidate has submitted their test, the Interview Kit will contain a link to view the submitted test in the Hirevue application.

To see a candidate's results in Hirevue, click View Report.
