Organizations using Talent Matching can use Report Builder to analyze match strength across jobs and candidates, including candidates who require manual (non‑AI) review. This includes candidates who opt out of AI‑assisted review when your organization enables candidate AI opt‑out.
This article explains where Talent Matching data appears in reports and which fields are available to support your analysis, including how to identify candidates labeled Needs manual review.
Access to Talent Matching data
Before you can report on Talent Matching data, confirm the feature is configured for your organization.
First, on the AI Tools page, make sure the Resume parsing and Talent Matching toggles are turned on for your organization so Talent Matching can calculate AI match scores.
Then, navigate to Configure > Real Talent > Talent Matching to configure:
Offices and departments where Talent Matching is active
- AI transparency settings, including optional candidate AI opt‑out
To access Talent Matching data in Report Builder, users must have:
Permission to view Talent Matching match scores (for example, the Can view Talent Matching AI score Job Admin permission)
Permission to view or create reports (Job Admin and above on the relevant jobs)
Configure Can view Talent Matching permissions on a Job Admin level. All users assigned to a Job Admin level with this permission can view Talent Matching details on the candidate profile and in reporting.
Job report fields
Talent Matching data is available in the Build Your Own Job report. These fields help you understand which jobs use Talent Matching and how candidates are distributed across match categories.
To learn how to create and customize reports, see Create a custom report using Report Builder.
Attribute columns
The following attribute column is available at the job level:
-
Talent Matching enabled: Indicates whether Talent Matching is configured and active on the job (True or False).
Use this attribute as a column, filter, or Group by field to:- Confirm which jobs are in scope for Talent Matching
- Compare activity between jobs that use or don’t use Talent Matching
Note: The exact field label may differ slightly in Report Builder. Check the Talent Matching section when selecting job attributes.
Metrics
The following Talent Matching metric is available at the job level:
-
Match strength counts: Displays the total number of candidates on the job in each Talent Matching match category, for example:
- Strong match
- Good match
- Partial match
- Limited match
- Needs manual review
Use this metric to:
- See how candidates are distributed across match categories for each job
- Track whether calibrations are surfacing enough Strong and Good matches over time
- Identify jobs with a high volume of Needs manual review candidates who may require additional attention from your team
After exporting your job report, you can also combine match strength with outcome fields (such as application status or hired) to estimate how often candidates in each match category progress or are hired.
Note: Match strength counts include all candidates associated with the job who are in scope for Talent Matching. Candidates labeled Needs manual review are not scored by Talent Matching but are still counted under that category.
Candidate report fields
Talent Matching data is also available in the Build Your Own Candidate report. These fields allow you to review match strength and manual‑review requirements at the application level.
Attribute columns
The following attribute column is available at the application level:
-
Talent Matching match category: Displays the candidate’s current Talent Matching match category for the application, such as:
- Strong match
- Good match
- Partial match
- Limited match
- Needs manual review
Use this attribute to:
- Review the latest match category for each candidate’s application
- Export candidate‑level data that includes match strength alongside other application details
- Support internal audits and historical reviews of AI‑assisted scoring decisions
You can also add other Talent Matching columns, including AI match score and explanation, AI opt‑out status and date, calibration date, and match score overrides (value, note, and user).
Filters and group by options
You can filter or group candidate reports using the match category field. Common use cases include:
-
Filter by match category
- Focus on Strong and Good matches for roles with high volume
- Identify candidates labeled Needs manual review who require non‑AI review
-
Group by match category
- Compare volume and outcomes by match category across offices, departments, or roles
- Track how changes to calibration affect the distribution of match categories over time
Analyze candidate AI opt-out and manual review
Talent Matching is designed as assistive AI, not automated decision‑making. It does not automatically advance or reject candidates, and all hiring decisions are made by your team.
Some candidates are not evaluated by Talent Matching and must be reviewed manually. These applications are labeled Needs manual review and can appear for any of the following reasons:
- The job is in a location where AI use is restricted
- There are rare formatting or technical issues with the candidate’s resume
- Your organization has enabled candidate AI opt‑out and the candidate has opted out of AI‑assisted review for that application
- AI has been turned off for the job in Talent Matching settings
How candidate AI opt-out works
When candidate AI opt‑out is enabled in Configure > Real Talent > Talent Matching:
- Candidates see an AI disclaimer on the job post, with a link to manage automated processing preferences
- Candidates who opt out for that application are labeled Needs manual review and are not evaluated by Talent Matching
- Any existing AI‑generated match score and reasoning for that application is deleted while the application is still active
Your team must review these candidates using your standard, non‑AI process.
Reporting on candidates who need manual review
You can use Report Builder to identify candidates who require manual review, including those who opted out of AI‑assisted review.
To build a candidate report focused on manual review:
- Open Reports > Build Your Own > Candidate report.
- Add the Talent Matching match category attribute column.
- (Optional) Add additional application or job fields (such as job, department, office, or custom job fields) to refine your analysis.
- Run the report.
- Sort or group by Talent Matching match category, or export the report and filter that column to Needs manual review in CSV or the Business Intelligence Connector.
This report can help you:
- Estimate the number of applications that required manual review for a given job, department, or time period
- Monitor the operational impact of AI opt‑out on your review workload
- Support internal reviews of how manual‑review candidates were handled
Note: The Needs manual review category includes all candidates who weren’t evaluated by Talent Matching, not only those who opted out of AI-assisted review.
Today, Report Builder does not distinguish sub-reasons (such as legal restrictions, technical parsing issues, or opt-out) within this category. Use internal logs or policies alongside this report if you need precise opt-out counts.
