Greenhouse Recruiting and Criteria created an integration that helps you seamlessly use the two platforms together to add Criteria assessments to your Greenhouse Recruiting interview pipeline.

Enable the Greenhouse Recruiting / Criteria integration

To enable the Greenhouse Recruiting / Criteria integration, contact your Criteria representative to receive your API key.

Once you have received your API key, fill out the form at or click here to open a ticket with Greenhouse Support.

Note: Please do not send your API key in the initial email to Greenhouse Support. Greenhouse Support will provide a secure link for you to safely share your API key.

Note: Criteria Corp Australia customers will also need to specify when reaching out to support that they will need the Criteria AU stage set up.

Greenhouse Support will respond with a SendSafely link for you to share your Criteria API key. A notification will be sent to Greenhouse Support after you have entered your API key, and Greenhouse Support will email you to confirm that your API key has been set up in your account and that your integration has been enabled.

Note: To verify your identity, Greenhouse Support might request you to provide a Support Verification Code before adding the API key to your organization's account.

Add the Criteria assessment stage to a job's interview plan

After you've confirmed the API key has been set up by Greenhouse Support, you can add the Criteria assessment stage to your job's interview plan.

From the All Jobs tab in Greenhouse Recruiting, select a specific job.

Click the Job Setup tab.

Click Interview Plan on the left.

From the Interview Plan page, click Add Stage.

From the Add Stage window, select the Criteria assessment stage.

The Criteria assessment stage has been added to your job. Repeat for any other jobs, or consider performing a bulk action to add the stage to multiple jobs at once if needed.

Configure the Criteria assessment stage

Once the Criteria stage has been added to a job, hover over the stage to select Edit .

On the Edit page, you'll see a drop-down menu that reflects the assessments that you’ve previously set up in Criteria.

Note: Configuration of the available Criteria assessments will need to be completed in Criteria.

Select the appropriate assessment, and assign at least one Greenhouse Recruiting user to grade/review the submitted assessment.

Tip: If you’d like to add additional testing to later stages on the job, simply replicate the steps above for your other stage. You may want to name the second testing stage something unique so you can differentiate among the stage (for example, Criteria and Criteria 2). 

Send a Criteria assessment to a candidate

When candidates are moved into the Criteria interview stage, Greenhouse Recruiting will display a Send Test button on the candidate profile.

Review the delivery details, then click Send Test.

Note: When you click Send Test on Greenhouse Recruiting, the interview instructions are actually sent by Criteria.

The tests will send immediately and this message will display to confirm when testing was sent

The candidate will receive an email from Criteria to take the assessment.

Send Criteria assessments in bulk to multiple candidates

Note: Candidates must reside in the same job and in the same testing stage (Criteria stage) in order to bulk send assessments.

To bulk send Criteria assessments, click All Candidates, then select Pipeline Tasks.

In the Pipeline Tasks menu, scroll down to Test Status and filter by To Be Sent.

Expand the Jobs pane on the left side and click Filter by Job. Select one job from the list and click Save when finished.

Next, select Bulk Actions, and choose from the list of candidates using the checkboxes on the left side of the table. When you're done, click Edit Selected.

Select Send Tests to send assessments to the chosen candidates.

Review the delivery details, and click Send Test

Note: When you click Send Test on Greenhouse Recruiting, the interview instructions are actually sent by Criteria.

Note: If you select different assessments on the Send Test screen than those which are associated with the job req, an email notification will not be sent to the graders in Greenhouse Recruiting when the results for those tests are completed.

View a candidate's Criteria assessment results

Note: Criteria assessment results should appear in Greenhouse Recruiting between 30 minutes and 1 hour after a candidate submits their responses.

Once a candidate has submitted their test, the candidate's interview kit in Greenhouse Recruiting will contain a link to view the submitted test on Criteria.

Click View Report to see a PDF of the candidate's score report.
