Permission policy: Make opening ID required for all jobs

Permissions: Site Admin who can edit another user's advanced permissions

Product tier: Available for all subscription tiers

Opening IDs allow your organization to track the openings associated with your requisitions, using alphanumeric naming conventions unique to your company's internal processes. To learn more about using opening IDs and requisitions, click here.

When your team enables the Make Opening ID required for all jobs permission policy, opening IDs become required for all openings on your jobs. Enabling this permission policy will have two impacts:

  • When creating a new job, a user will be prompted to either use the Generate Opening IDs button or manually enter opening IDs for each opening on the job. The Generate Opening IDs button will only be available if the user has first provided a requisition ID for the job. This step will be completed during the new job setup flow on the Job Info page.
  • When editing any details on the Job Info or Approvals page for an existing job, users will be required to provide an opening ID for each active opening prior to saving their changes.

A Site Admin with the user-specific permission 'Can edit another user's advanced permissions' can enable the "Make opening ID a required field" permission policy.

To make opening IDs required for all jobs, click the Configure icon  on your navigation bar, then select Permission Policies on the left.

Under the Jobs section, check the permission Make "Opening ID" a required field.
