Note: The Generate Opening IDs feature can only be performed during the new job creation flow. It can not be performed on jobs that have already been created.
Each opening for a requisition can be assigned its own Opening ID to help your organization and any downstream systems differentiate between each opening for a requisition. Click here to learn more about requisitions and openings. For your convenience, your organization can utilize Greenhouse Recruiting's Generate Opening IDs feature to automatically assign Opening IDs to job openings during the new job creation flow.
To generate Opening IDs for openings on a new job, click Add in the upper right-hand corner and select Create a Job from the dropdown menu.
Choose a starting point to create a new job.
From the subsequent page, navigate to the Job Info panel and fill in any necessary details in the appropriate fields. Additionally, either input a value in the Requisition ID field or click Generate Requisition ID.
Note: The Generate Opening IDs feature can only be activated when a job has a Requisition ID listed.
Navigate to the Openings panel. Click Add New to add a single opening to the job.
Alternatively, your organization can add multiple openings to a job simultaneously by clicking and selecting a number from the dropdown menu. Click Add when finished.
When finished, click Generate Opening IDs.
An Opening ID will be added to each opening. The Opening ID will be comprised of the Requisition ID followed by a dash and a sequential number (e.g. 324-1, 324-2, 324-3, etc...)
