TalentScan provides AI recruiting tools to simplify hiring. 

Greenhouse Recruiting’s integration with TalentScan allows you to add candidates to jobs in Greenhouse Recruiting directly from platforms such as GitHub, Stack Overflow, and LinkedIn. The integration also allows you to add comments directly to a candidate's Greenhouse Recruiting candidate profile, and see all historic interactions with the candidate. In this article, we will cover how to: 


Configure User Setup Permissions in Greenhouse Recruiting 

In order to enable the Greenhouse Recruiting / TalentScan integration, you will need the developer permission Can manage ALL organization’s API Credentials.

Contact a Greenhouse Recruiting user in your organization with Site Admin level permissions with the additional user-specific permission Can edit another user's advanced permissions to apply the permission Can manage ALL organization's API Credentials to your user account. 

Have the user with Site Admin level permissions edit your user account's permissions by navigating to the Configure icon configure.png > Users > Your Name.


The user with Site Admin level permissions should navigate to the Permissions panel on your user page and expand the Developer Permissions dropdown menu. 

Select Can manage ALL organization’s API Credentials so that a check is in the checkbox. When finished, click Save.


Repeat as necessary for any other user who should have access to set up the integration.


Create a Harvest API Key for the Greenhouse Recruiting / TalentScan Integration 

To create a Harvest API key for the integration, click on the Configure configure.png icon in the upper right-hand corner. Navigate to Dev Center on the left-hand panel. 

From the Dev Center page, click API Credential Management


From the API Credential Management page, click Create New API Key to generate the API key for TalentScan.


From the Create new credential dialog box, give your API key a name and select Harvest from the Type dropdown menu. When finished, click Create.

On the Manage API Key Permissions page, enable the following permissions:

  • Activity Feed
  • Candidates
  • Jobs
  • Users

When finished, click Update

Your Harvest API key for the Greenhouse Recruiting / TalentScan integration is created and configured. Copy and save your Harvest API key, as you will need to provide it to TalentScan in the next step.


Install the TalentScan for Greenhouse Recruiting Chrome Plugin

Click here to access the TalentScan Chrome plugin in the Chrome Web Store. Click Add to Chrome to install the plugin. 

Once the plugin is installed, open any profile on LinkedIn, then click the TalentScan icon to expand the right-hand panel. 

Click to sign in with Google or LinkedIn. 

Copy the Harvest API key created previously in Greenhouse Recruiting, and paste it in the TalentScan plugin. Click Sync



Use the Greenhouse Recruiting / TalentScan Integration

Add a candidate to Greenhouse Recruiting from LinkedIn or other platforms.

To use the TalentScan plugin, navigate to a profile on LinkedIn, then click the TalentScan icon.


Select the vacancy / open job where you want to add the candidate in Greenhouse Recruiting, then click Add

Navigate to Greenhouse Recruiting to view the candidate on the job you selected. 

Add a comment to a candidate profile from LinkedIn or other platforms.

Navigate to a profile on LinkedIn, then click the TalentScan icon. 

Add your notes as a comment. 

To view the comment, navigate to Greenhouse Recruiting and search for the candidate's profile. Any comments added to the candidate through the TalentScan plugin will appear on the Private tab under the Private Notes section. 

In addition, comments you add to the candidate's profile in Greenhouse Recruiting will appear in the TalentScan plugin when viewing the candidate on LinkedIn or other platforms.
