Planted is a smart career platform that matches top business talent with growing and innovative companies. Planted’s smart matching engine carefully curates candidates and shortlists the ones who best fit your needs. They also support a range of hiring options including direct hire, trial-to-perm, project-based, contract work, or seasonal support.

Greenhouse Recruiting's integration with Planted will allow Planted to automatically submit candidate data to your Greenhouse account and receive status updates on applications. In this article, we will cover how to:

Configure User Setup Permissions in Greenhouse Recruiting

In order to enable the Greenhouse/Planted integration, you will need the developer permission Can manage ALL organization’s API Credentials.

Contact a Greenhouse user in your organization with Site Admin level permissions with the additional user-specific permission Can edit another user's advanced permissions to apply the API credential management permission to your account. Have the user with Site Admin level permissions edit your user account's permissions by navigating to the Configure icon configure.png > Users > Your Name.

The user with Site Admin level permissions should navigate to the Permissions panel on your user page and expand the Developer Permissions dropdown menu.

Select Can manage ALL organization’s API Credentials so that a check is in the checkbox. When finished, click Save.

Repeat as necessary for any other user that should have access to set up the integration.

Generate a Partner API Key for Greenhouse/Planted Integration

To create a Harvest API key for the integration, click on the Configure icon  in the upper right-hand corner. Navigate to Dev Center on the left-hand panel.

From the Dev Center page, click API Credential Management.

Click Create New API Key to generate the API key.

From the Create new credential dialog box: give the API key a name, select Partner from the Type dropdown menu, and select Planted from the Client Application dropdown menu.

When finished, click Create.

This will create a new API key for Planted, which you will find in the list below any other API keys you may have previously created.

Click Copy.

Authenticate Greenhouse/Planted Integration

With your Greenhouse Partner API key created and copied, navigate to your Planted account. Click your Name in the upper right-hand corner and select ATS Integrations from the dropdown menu.

From the ATS Integrations page, click Connect with Greenhouse.

Here you will be asked for the Greenhouse Partner API Key that was created for Planted and the email address of the Greenhouse User who created it.

Copy and paste the API Key from your Greenhouse account.

Enter the email address listed under Created by and save it to your Planted account .

Once you have saved both the Partner API and Greenhouse User Email Address in Planted, click Connect. Planted will check your authentication credentials.

Connect your Planted Jobs to Corresponding Greenhouse Jobs

Once Greenhouse is successfully connected with Planted, you will need to connect your existing Planted jobs to their corresponding Greenhouse jobs to sync candidate data and statuses. There are two different ways to do this:

Connect multiple Planted jobs at once from your Planted Greenhouse ATS Integration page.

Connect individual Planted jobs from their corresponding Job Details pages

If you do not have any existing Planted jobs, first create a job in Planted and then connect it to the corresponding Greenhouse job.

Be sure to check out the Activity Feed for each candidate in Greenhouse to see a copy of their Planted Q&A answers as well as a link to their application in Planted where you can find additional information.
