Sharing updates in MyGreenhouse helps candidates stay organized and understand what’s next while giving your team a more transparent, branded candidate experience with no manual effort.
When you choose to share updates, you can decide whether candidates see application statuses, tasks, or both.
Overview
When candidates apply for Greenhouse-hosted jobs, their application details are automatically added to their MyGreenhouse account. When you share updates, they'll see any tasks you've assigned and whether their applications are active or inactive.
Application status
In MyGreenhouse, applications are "active" by default. When you turn on application statuses, we'll update applications to "inactive" after you've rejected the candidate.
Applications are marked inactive:
- After you send a rejection email
- After your scheduled rejection email is sent
- 4 days after the date of the rejection, if no email is scheduled or sent
Candidates are not notified about the change, but will see their status when they view their applications in MyGreenhouse.
Turn on application statuses
Go to Configure > MyGreenhouse, then scroll to "Application status."
Turn the toggle "On." Your changes will be automatically saved.
Tasks
Tasks give candidates one place to see and complete important steps in the hiring process, so nothing gets missed. When you share tasks, requests you send from Greenhouse automatically appear in the candidate’s account. This helps candidates stay on track without extra follow-up from your team.
In MyGreenhouse, candidates can:
- Share their availability
- Self-schedule interviews
- Complete emailed tests
- Fill out forms
- Complete candidate experience surveys
Turn on tasks
Go to Configure > MyGreenhouse, then scroll to "Tasks."
Turn the toggle "On." Your changes will be automatically saved.
