Application tracking helps candidates stay organized during their job search while giving your team access to a growing set of tools that create a transparent, branded candidate experience.

MyGreenhouse supports tracking for all candidates who apply through Greenhouse job boards, but organizations that turn on application tracking offer a more complete experience.

Note: Today, turning on application tracking only shares candidate tasks and if applications are active or inactive. Upcoming features will be highly configurable, so you can customize exactly the information your team will share with candidates.

Overview

When candidates apply for Greenhouse-hosted jobs, their application details are automatically added to their MyGreenhouse account. They can then return to review the jobs they’ve applied for and their application dates.

Opted-in experience

When you opt into application tracking, your organization can unlock an enhanced version of this experience with no manual effort from your team. Companies that enable application tracking get:

Opted-in badge: Your company's commitment to transparency is highlighted by displaying a badge next to your name in MyGreenhouse.

Active/Inactive status: In MyGreenhouse, applications are "active" by default. When you turn on application tracking, we'll update applications to "inactive" after you've sent a rejection email to the candidate. If you reject a candidate without scheduling or sending a rejection email, we'll update the application's status to "inactive" 4 days after the date of their rejection.

Turn on application tracking

Go to Configure, Candidate portal,  then select "Turn on application tracking."

Click "Save changes."

Frequently asked questions

What am I sharing with candidates?

When you turn on application tracking, you'll share their application status (active or inactive), and links to outstanding candidate tasks including availability requests, self-schedule requests and candidate surveys.

As we add more features and functionality to application tracking, but you'll always be in control of what you share with candidates.

What happens if I turn off application tracking?

If you turn off application tracking, all of your organization's data will be removed from MyGreenhouse. Candidates will only see their data and publicly available details about your jobs, like job postings. They will still be able to see applications they submitted in MyGreenhouse with a note explaining that application statuses and tasks are no longer being shared by your organization.
