Talent filtering streamlines app review by allowing you to easily search for keywords in applications, then filter the results to find the most qualified candidates.
Adding a talent filtering step to app review
You can add talent filtering as a default step to your organization's app review process.
To add a talent filtering step, go to the Configure icon in the upper right-hand corner, select Permissions on the left side panel, then, scroll to Jobs.
Click the checkbox next to "Display the talent filtering step during application review." Select the Edit icon to set the candidate threshold after which talent filtering will automatically display.
Finding talent filtering
You can filter candidates' applications during the application review stage. First, go to the job dashboard for the role you're interested in, then select Review Applications.
If you've added the talent filtering step and the application volume exceeds your threshold, you'll go directly to talent filtering.
Otherwise, select Filter talent within app review.
Searching for keywords
Begin by searching for job titles, skills, locations, and other keywords in the full text of resumes and internal notes. Add as many keywords as you’d like.
To appear in your results, the keyword from your search must exactly match the keyword in the application. Keywords can be:
- Preferred: Only one term must appear in a candidate’s application to be included in the search results (OR statements)
- Required: All terms must appear in a candidate’s application to be included in the search results (AND statements)
To accelerate your workflow, include Greenhouse’s suggested keywords generated from your public job post.
Filtering candidates
Once you’ve selected your keywords, use filters to prioritize your candidates by location, referrals, scorecard status, education or custom criteria.
Reviewing filtered candidates
After adding keywords and filters, see how many candidates have the qualifications you're looking for. Then, save time by reviewing the applications that meet your needs.
