The Predictive Index’s integration with Greenhouse Recruiting allows you to seamlessly add behavioral assessments and cognitive assessments to a job's interview plan.

Create a Harvest API key

To configure The Predictive Index integration, you’ll need to create a Harvest API key.

Follow the steps in this article to create the key, and verify that the permissions below are selected when configuring The Predictive Index integration.

Credentials

In the Create New Credential box, make the following selections:

  • API Type: Harvest
  • Partner: Predictive Index or Custom
  • Description: The Predictive Index Harvest API Key

Permissions

Verify that the following permissions are selected for The Predictive Index integration:

  • Candidates
  • Custom Fields
  • Custom Field Options
  • Jobs

Sending custom fields through the integration

Custom fields must first be set up within PI to populate within Greenhouse. These custom fields are set up via API by clicking the Set up custom fields button within the PI Integration screen. For help setting up custom fields, refer to this PI support article.

Creating a PI-specific stage

In order to trigger the integration, candidates need to be added to a custom stage called PI Send Assessments, which is set up when creating the job.

To view the PI fields in Greenhouse Recruiting, go to the Overview page and click See all under the Job Info section.

Two custom fields will be available:

  • PI Assessment: Used to select whether to send candidates the PI Behavioral Assessment, the PI Cognitive Assessment, or both.
  • PI Job: Includes all jobs you can access to in the PI platform. Select the relevant job in PI for this job in Greenhouse.

In order for The Predictive Index to populate Greenhouse with accurate assessment scores, a job needs to be created in The Predictive Index. This job, and its associated behavioral target, will be what the candidate is scored against. In order to create a job, login to PI, navigate to Hire (if applicable) and click the Create New Job button.

Input the title of the job.

Select/create a behavioral target for the newly created job.

Note: if a behavioral target is not set, candidate scores will not be posted to Greenhouse Recruiting.

If you intend to use a Cognitive Assessment for this job, ensure the Cognitive Target is also set.

Use The Predictive Index integration with Greenhouse Recruiting

Once the Predictive Index integration is enabled for your organization, you will be able to add the PI Behavioral Assessment and/or Cognitive Assessment as an interview stage.

You can send an assessment to a candidate by selecting the Send Test button next to the interview stage.

After it has been sent, an assessment’s status will be displayed as a note on the activity feed

Once the candidate has submitted their test, the results will be added to the activity feed and saved in the custom candidate fields.

Clicking the PI Candidate URL field open The Predictive Index to review that candidate’s profile.

Additionally, a Candidate Insights Packet will be accessible within Greenhouse Recruiting, eliminating the need to navigate to the PI software to get detailed results.

Cognitive Assessment scores are also visible within the Greenhouse candidate record.
