When a user requests approval on a job or offer, the listed approvers receive an automated email notification with the details of the job or offer.
Customizing automated approval reminders
Information on approval reminders can be customized by Site Admins by clicking Configure Approval Reminders under Configure > Approvals.
Sections can be entirely removed from the automated email by selecting the box. If a section is selected, the specific information sent in the email can be configured by choosing options from the dropdown menu.
A version of the email can be viewed in a new tab by clicking Preview email.
When you're finished, click Save changes.
Receiving automated approval emails
If they're currently logged into Greenhouse Recruiting, the approver can approve or reject the job or offer directly from within the email.
If a job is rejected, an email notification is sent to the following users:
- The user who made the request
- Each hiring manager assigned to the job
If an offer is rejected, an email notification may be sent to the following users:
- The user who made the request
- The job's primary recruiter (This user is labeled with 'Recruiting tasks')
- The job's hiring manager(s)
- Any users who have already approved the offer
Note: In the example below, one of the approval steps is marked as 1 of 2 approvals required. In this case, if one of the users approves and one rejects, the step ultimately is considered approved.
The offer advances, and a rejection notification is not sent.
However, if both users reject the offer, the offer is considered rejected, and a rejection notification is sent.
