Sales and transaction tax for Greenhouse customers

Greenhouse reserves the right to assess sales and certain transactional taxes (“Taxes”) as required by local laws. Greenhouse fees are quoted and shown exclusive of taxes. Taxes are calculated based on your billing address and shown separately on your Greenhouse invoice, when applicable.

U.S. taxes

Greenhouse will assess taxes in the following U.S. jurisdictions, unless a tax exemption has been approved for your organization:

International taxes

Greenhouse reserves the right to assess value added tax (“VAT”), goods and services tax (“GST”), or consumption tax. Additional details are listed below by your billing country.

Australia

Australian GST will not be added to your invoice. Customers with a billing address in Australia can provide their Business Number to be included on invoices. See the Update your tax info section below for more information.

Canada

British Columbia

British Columbia provincial sales tax (“PST”) will be added to invoices if your billing address is in British Columbia province. Customers can provide their PST ID to be included on invoices. See the Update your tax info section below for more information.

Saskatchewan

Saskatchewan provincial sales tax (“PST”) will be added to invoices if your billing address is in Saskatchewan province. Customers can provide their PST ID to be included on invoices. See the Update your tax info section below for more information.

European countries 

VAT will not be added to your invoice and is subject to the reverse charge mechanism. Customers with a billing address in the countries listed below can provide their VAT ID to be included on invoices. 

  • 27 European Union Member States
  • Norway
  • Switzerland
  • United Kingdom

Japan

Japan Consumption Tax (“JCT”) will not be added to invoices. Customers with a billing address in Japan are responsible to self-assess and report JCT under the reverse charge mechanism in accordance with the Consumption Tax Act.

Mexico

Mexico VAT will not be added to your invoice. Customers with a billing address in Mexico can provide their RFC (Federal Taxpayers Register) to be included on invoices. See the Update your tax info section below for more information.

Customers with a billing address in Mexico are responsible to self-assess and report VAT under the reverse charge mechanism in accordance with the Value Added Tax law.

South Africa

South Africa VAT will be added to your invoice if your billing address is in South Africa. Customers with a billing address in South Africa can provide their VAT ID to be included on invoices. See the Update your tax info section below for more information.

Request an exemption

Customers eligible for U.S. Tax exemption are required to submit an official exemption certificate with their Greenhouse Invoice to tax@greenhouse.io.

Tax IDs

Customers with billing country listed above, other than the United States of America, you may add your valid Tax ID to be shown on invoices. To add a valid Tax ID, please send your valid Tax ID and a recent invoice to tax@greenhouse.io.
