This guide will walk you through integrating your Voice AI account with Ashby. Voice AI provides AI-powered recruiting tools, and this integration allows candidate data to flow into Ashby.
Voice AI integrates natively with Ashby. Connecting the two lets you:
- Launch Voice AI screening interviews directly from a candidate's profile in Ashby
- Automatically send interview invitations to candidates
- View interview scores and results directly in Ashby, without switching tools
Candidate data flows securely between Ashby and Voice AI to support a streamlined screening workflow.
Configure the Voice AI integration
Note: Before you begin, make sure you have:
- An active Ashby account with organizational admin permissions
- A Voice AI recruiter account
- Permission to create API keys in Ashby
Create an Ashby API key
Go to Admin → Integrations → API Keys in Ashby.
Click + New.
Configure the API key with the following permissions:
- Job postings: Read
- Candidates: Read/Write
- Interviews: Read
- Hiring Process Metadata: Read/Write
- API Keys: Write
Give the key a clear name, for example VoiceAIKey.
Under Integration Partner, select Ezra AI Labs.
Click Create API Key.
Note: Save your API key somewhere safe. You can only copy it once.
Connect your Ashby API key in Voice AI
In Voice AI, go to Company Settings → Integrations.
Under Connect your ATS, click Connect ATS.
Tip: ATS integrations require careful configuration. Contact AIProducts@greenhouse.io and the Greenhouse team can configure the integration for you, or continue with the self-service setup below if you're familiar with ATS integrations.
Click Continue to Setup.
Select Ashby as your ATS provider.
Enter your Ashby API key and click Connect.
To finish connecting the integration, contact AIProducts@greenhouse.io. The Greenhouse team completes the final step on their end.
Set up your Ashby email template
Send yourself or your client the invitation email template if you haven't already received it.
To set up an email template in Ashby:
- Go to Admin → Organization Setup → Email Templates
- Click + New Template
- Add the subject and body in the editor
- Use formatting, links, tokens, images, or attachments as needed
- Optionally add CC/BCC and assign the template to specific groups
Templates save automatically.

Use the Voice AI integration with Ashby
Add an Ezra assessment to an interview plan
- Open a job in Ashby
- Go to Interview Plan in the left-side menu
- Choose the interview stage to add the Ezra assessment to
- Click Add Activity to [stage name]
- In the right-hand panel, under Integrations, choose Ezra AI Labs
- Click Select Assessment Type, then Add

- Open a job in Ashby
- Go to Interview Plan in the left-side menu
- Choose the interview stage to add the automation to
- Click Modify > Edit > Automation, then toggle Automate on Stage Entry?
- Go back to the interview plan and add a second activity. Under Other, select Send Email
- Select the email template you created earlier and click Submit
- After setting up the Send Email activity, click Modify > Edit > Automation, then toggle Automate on Stage Entry?
Once these are set up, candidates who reach this stage automatically become eligible for an Ezra screening interview.
Start a screening interview for a candidate
When a candidate reaches the stage with the Ezra assessment:
Open the candidate's profile from the interview pipeline.
Click Change Stage and select the stage with the Ezra assessment, for example Application Review.
Under Current Activities, find Ezra AI Labs Assessment and click Start Assessment.
Expand the menu and select Show Invitation URL.
Copy the generated URL, for example https://app.ezraailabs.tech/signup?redirectType=....
Send the URL to the candidate.
View assessment results in Ashby
After the candidate completes their Ezra interview, results sync back to Ashby automatically.
On the candidate's profile, go to the Assessments tab and expand Ezra AI Labs Assessment.
From here, you can view:
- Overall interview score
- Additional assessment details
- A direct link to the full Ezra interview report
