Ropes is an anti-fraud platform for hiring. Ropes Scout is Ropes' top-of-funnel anti-fraud screening tool. Scout checks whether candidates show signs of fraud based on the data that already exists within your ATS. Ropes Screens are asynchronous interviews in which candidates demonstrate hands-on skills via real-world simulation. During the screening, candidates work inside Ropes' web-based environment capable of detecting interview proxies, location concealment, invisible cheating tools, and dozens of other fraud methods.
Ropes’ integration with Greenhouse Recruiting allows you to seamlessly add assessments to a job's interview plan.
Configure the Ropes AI integration
You need a Greenhouse Site Admin (or a user who can manage the organization's API credentials) and a Ropes user with Super Admin level permissions. The integration has two connections:
- Harvest v3 via OAuth 2.0 — Scout reads candidates, applications, and resumes, then writes results back.
- Assessment API — Greenhouse lists and sends Ropes Screens.
Connect Harvest v3 (OAuth)
Authorize with a service account so the connection is not tied to one person's Greenhouse login. See Connect to Harvest v3 partner integrations.
In Ropes, go to Settings > ATS.
Open Greenhouse and click Connect with Greenhouse.
Sign in to Greenhouse as a Site Admin.
Review the permissions, then authorize. Choose Authorize using a service account.
You return to Ropes. The Greenhouse row should show Connected.
Enable the Assessment API (Ropes Screens)
In Ropes, go to Settings > API.
Click Generate New API Key. Name it something like Greenhouse Assessment. Copy the key immediately — Ropes only shows it once.
Request a Send Safely link from Greenhouse Support to share the Ropes API key for the Assessment API integration. Share the key via the Send Safely link.
Greenhouse enables the Ropes AI interview stage for your account.

Use the Ropes AI integration
How Scout runs
Once Harvest v3 is connected and Scout is enabled:
- A candidate submits an application in Greenhouse.
- Ropes pulls the candidate, contact info, and resume attachments over Harvest v3.
- Scout runs in the background.
- When Scout finishes, Ropes writes the result onto the application. The application is not moved.
You do not click anything in Greenhouse to start Scout.
How to send a Ropes Screen
- Open the candidate in Greenhouse and move them to the Ropes AI stage.
- Click Send Test.
- Choose the Screen and confirm the candidate email.
- Click Send Test. Ropes emails the invite and handles reminders — Greenhouse does not.
When a Screen is done, the Interview Kit has a View Report link into Ropes. Opening the full report requires a Ropes login.
