Bright Apply is an AI-powered interview and screening platform built by Bright Network. Candidates complete a conversational, AI-led interview in their browser, and recruiters get structured results (transcripts, scores, and screening recommendations) to help them review applicants faster and more consistently.

Bright Apply's integration with Greenhouse Recruiting allows users to automatically send candidates from Greenhouse into a Bright Apply interview, and have the interview outcome flow back into Greenhouse: candidates move through the configured interview stage, a link to their results is added to the application, and the application is progressed or rejected based on the screening decision.

Configure the Bright Apply integration

Prerequisites

  • A Greenhouse Recruiting Site Admin is required to authorize the connection.
  • A Bright Apply account with at least one opportunity configured.

Bright Apply connects to Greenhouse through Kombo, Bright Apply's integration provider. Since Bright Apply is a product built by Bright Network, you will see both names used throughout the connection process.

Open the connection link provided by your Bright Apply contact. Select Greenhouse (V3) as your ATS solution.

Review the permissions that Bright Apply will be requesting from your Greenhouse account, click Continue, then sign in to Greenhouse Recruiting as a Site Admin.

You can now return to your Bright Apply admin interface and visit the ATS Integrations page, where your new Greenhouse (V3) integration will be shown as Active. At this point, Greenhouse will begin an initial data sync, and jobs will become available to map to Bright Apply opportunities once it completes.

Data Bright Apply writes to Greenhouse

Once an interview is complete, Bright Apply takes the following actions on the application:

Use the Bright Apply integration

One-time setup: map a Greenhouse job to a Bright Apply opportunity

For each role that should use Bright Apply interviews:

In Bright Apply, open the job opportunity and go to its ATS settings page.

Select the connected Greenhouse (V3) integration you set up, then select the relevant Greenhouse job from the dropdown.

Scenario 1: Send a candidate to a Bright Apply interview

In Greenhouse Recruiting, move the candidate's application into the starting stage you mapped above.

Bright Apply detects the stage change, creates the interview, and emails the candidate an invitation to complete it. You can see the Application Created interview status for the candidate in your Bright Apply admin.

Scenario 2: Review interview results in Greenhouse

When the candidate finishes their interview, Bright Apply updates their interview status to Completed. You can see this in your Bright Apply candidate list.

Bright Apply then moves the application to the Ready for Review stage (if configured) in Greenhouse and adds a results link to the Greenhouse application. You can click the result link to be taken to the candidate score report page in Bright Apply.

Disconnect or delete the integration

There are two ways to stop the integration, depending on whether you want to disconnect a single role or remove the integration entirely.

Remove the ATS connection from a single role

  • In Bright Apply, open the job opportunity and go to its ATS settings page.
  • Click Disconnect integration and confirm. The integration is removed from that opportunity, and candidates will no longer be synced to or from your ATS. You can reconnect at any time.
