TestTrick is a skills-based candidate assessment platform that helps organizations evaluate candidates through online assessments, technical tests, psychometric assessments, and other candidate evaluation tools.
The TestTrick integration with Greenhouse Recruiting allows recruiters to configure TestTrick assessments in Greenhouse and send those assessments to candidates directly from their Greenhouse application. Candidates receive the assessment invitation from TestTrick and complete their assessment on the TestTrick platform. Once the assessment is completed, Greenhouse can retrieve the candidate's assessment status, score, and result information through the TestTrick Assessment API.
Configure the TestTrick integration
Prerequisites
Before configuring the integration:
- You have an active TestTrick account.
- You have Owner or Admin access in TestTrick.
Connect the integration
Log in to your TestTrick account.
Navigate to Settings > Integrations.
Locate the Greenhouse integration and click Enable.
Once enabled, your unique API key is displayed. Copy it — you'll need it in the next step.
Note: The API key is tied to your TestTrick account. Keep it secure and do not share it publicly.
Enable the integration from Greenhouse
After retrieving the API key, click here to open a ticket with Greenhouse Support.
Note: Don't send your API key in the initial ticket. If needed, Greenhouse Support will respond with a SendSafely link for you to securely share the API key.
Wait for a confirmation email from Greenhouse Support. You may be required to verify your account before you can proceed.
Once the API key setup is confirmed, add the assessment stage in your interview plans, as described in the next steps.
Use the TestTrick integration
The TestTrick integration allows Greenhouse users to select an available TestTrick assessment and send it to a candidate.
Send an assessment to a candidate
Once the integration is active, you can invite any candidate to a TestTrick assessment directly from Greenhouse.
Select All Jobs from the top toolbar.
Select the relevant job name from the list.
Click the Job Setup tab.
Select Interview Plan from the left toolbar.
Click + Add a Stage.
Choose TestTrick from the list and click Add.
Select the TestTrick stage and click Edit.
Select the required TestTrick assessment from the Test name dropdown menu.
Assign at least one Greenhouse user to review the assessment results.
Click Save to finish.
Invite a candidate to the assessment
From your candidate's Greenhouse record, select Stages from the left toolbar.
Click Move Stage to advance the candidate to the TestTrick stage.
Click Send Test.
In the pop-up box, confirm the candidate's email address and assign a grader.
Click Send Test to send the invitation to the candidate.
Note: The assessment email will not be sent unless you click the Send Test button. Simply moving the candidate to the stage is not enough.
TestTrick will send an invitation email to the candidate with a link to begin their assessment.
Candidate receives the assessment
After the assessment is successfully created, TestTrick sends an assessment invitation to the candidate's email address.
The email contains a unique link that allows the candidate to access and complete the assigned assessment.
Candidate completes the assessment
The candidate opens the assessment invitation and completes the assessment on the TestTrick platform. After the candidate successfully completes the assessment, TestTrick records the completion status and calculates the assessment result.
Assessment completion and results
Once the candidate completes the assessment, TestTrick notifies Greenhouse that the assessment has been completed.
Greenhouse then requests the latest assessment status from TestTrick.
TestTrick returns the assessment status and, when available, the candidate's assessment score and result URL.
The returned information can include:
- Assessment status
- Assessment score
- TestTrick candidate result/profile URL
- Additional assessment metadata
Greenhouse can then display the assessment result to the Greenhouse user.
