Brainner is an AI-powered resume screening and fraud detection platform that helps recruiting teams identify top candidates and detect fake or high-risk applicants at scale.
Brainner's integration with Greenhouse Recruiting allows users to automatically import jobs, candidates, applications, and pipeline stages from Greenhouse into Brainner; rank applicants against role-specific requirements defined by the hiring team; verify candidate identity against 3.5 billion data points to flag fraudulent applicants before the first interview; and push evaluation results, Identity Check reports, and stage updates back to Greenhouse, so nothing changes in the recruiter's day-to-day workflow.
Configure the Brainner integration
Prerequisites
- You must be a Site Admin in Greenhouse
- You must be an Admin in Brainner.
Setup steps
Log in to your Brainner account at app.brainner.ai.
On the welcome screen, click Connect your ATS. If you are already logged in, go to Settings and open the ATS tab instead.
Select Greenhouse from the list of ATS integrations.
Review the list of permissions Brainner will request and enter the email address of the Greenhouse admin activating the integration.
Click Log in to Greenhouse.
You will be redirected to Greenhouse's sign-in page. Enter your Greenhouse credentials and log in.
On the Greenhouse authorization screen, review the requested permissions.
Optionally, expand the Authorize using a service account option before clicking Log in to Greenhouse. This creates an org-level Integration Service User (ISU) to own the authorization, so the integration will not be tied to your personal Greenhouse account. See Greenhouse's ISU support article for details.
Click Authorize to complete the authorization.
Once the authorization completes, you will be redirected back to Brainner. The connection is now active.
(Optional) If you want to send evaluation results to Greenhouse, you can enable it in Brainner under Settings > ATS. Full step-by-step guide: How to send Brainner results to Greenhouse custom fields
- Save evaluation results in application profile — posts the analysis summary and full evaluation report on each candidate's application in Greenhouse.
- Save identity check results in candidate profile — posts the Identity Check outcome and full Identity Check report on each candidate's profile in Greenhouse.
Use the Brainner integration
How to evaluate candidates and take decisions
From the Brainner dashboard, click Search Jobs
Enter the name Greenhouse job you want to analyze (for example, Senior Software Engineer) and click the job from the list.
In the Details tab, the job description imported from Greenhouse is displayed. Click Analysis on the left menu
In the Analysis tab, define the requirements candidates will be scored against. By clicking Extract from description Brainner proposes a first draft of the scorecard based on the job description. Edit, add, or remove requirements as needed and click Save changes.
Tip: Each requirement can reference either the resume or the answers to Greenhouse pre-application questions. Brainner uses both sources during the analysis.
(Optional) Go to the Identity check tab and click Turn on automatic Identity Checks to run fraud detection on every candidate imported for this role.
Go to the Candidates tab within the job.
Click Start Evaluating. Choose which Greenhouse stage or stages the candidates should be imported from. Brainner imports all candidates currently in the selected stages and analyzes them against the requirements you defined. From that point on, every new candidate who applies to this role in Greenhouse is automatically imported and evaluated by Brainner.
Once analyzed, candidates are ranked based on a fully explainable score that reflects how well they meet each requirement. Use the filters to focus on the top matches. For example, filter by specific criteria, and/or by candidates with no Identity Check issues.
Click on a candidate to open their profile in Brainner. You will see the application information, the evaluation report with a per-requirement justification of why the candidate meets it or not, the resume, and the Identity Check report.
Take a decision on the candidate: Advance to the next stage, or Reject (selecting the rejection reason).
The decision syncs to Greenhouse automatically. The candidate's status is updated in your Greenhouse pipeline with no additional action needed.

Frequently asked questions
What can I do with Brainner's AI resume screening?
Brainner automatically screens every candidate that lands in your Greenhouse pipeline against a role-specific scorecard defined by your hiring team. Each candidate receives a fully explainable score based on how well they meet each requirement, so recruiters skip hours of manual resume review and focus only on the top matches. Customers typically cut time-to-shortlist by more than 80% while surfacing qualified candidates who would have been missed in a manual review.
How does Brainner detect fake or high-risk applicants?
Brainner's Identity Check verifies every candidate against 3.5 billion data points to detect fake applicants, identity fraud, and high-risk profiles before the first interview. Signals include phone and email fraud scoring, LinkedIn public profile, resume metadata, employment history consistency, and cross-tenant fraud patterns. Each candidate receives a No Issues, Flagged, or High Risk outcome plus a detailed report, so your team keeps fraudulent applicants out of the pipeline without adding manual verification steps.
Can Brainner rediscover candidates from my Greenhouse database?
Yes. Brainner's Candidate Rediscovery lets you search your entire Greenhouse candidate database in natural language and import qualified past applicants into a new role for evaluation. This turns your existing pipeline into a sourcing channel and reduces reliance on new inbound applications. See Candidate Rediscovery for details.
Do I need to be a Site Admin in Greenhouse to install the integration?
Yes. Site Admin permissions are required to install Harvest v3 partner integrations. Once installed, all recruiters in your Greenhouse account can benefit from the integration.
Can I use an Integration Service User (ISU) instead of my personal account?
Yes. On the Greenhouse authorization screen, select Authorize using a service account. Greenhouse will create an organization-level service account to own the authorization. See Greenhouse's ISU support article for details.
