Zero Assist is an interview integrity monitoring platform for remote technical interviews. A lightweight desktop agent runs on the candidate's machine during the interview and detects screen overlays, virtual machines, and unauthorized background applications (such as AI assistants), producing an Integrity Score and a detailed report for the hiring team.

Zero Assist's integration with Greenhouse Recruiting allows users to automatically create interview integrity monitoring sessions when a candidate reaches a chosen interview stage, deliver the candidate's setup instructions as a note on the candidate's Greenhouse application, and receive the candidate's Integrity Score and full report link back on the candidate's Greenhouse profile.

Configure the Zero Assist integration

The Zero Assist integration authenticates with Greenhouse using the OAuth 2.0 authorization code flow. The connection must be authorized by a Greenhouse user with Site Admin permissions, and requires a Zero Assist account on the Growth plan or higher.

Sign in to the Zero Assist dashboard and go to Integrations > ATS Connect.

Zero Assist dashboard - Integrations, ATS Connect tab

Click Add Integration and select Greenhouse from the list.

Zero Assist - choose Greenhouse from the ATS list

On the Greenhouse Connection card, click Connect Greenhouse. Your browser is redirected to Greenhouse.

(Optional) If you would like to activate the integration with a dedicated Integration Service User (ISU) instead of a personal account, first follow the steps in Greenhouse's article Connect to Harvest v3 partner integrations, then complete the next step signed in as that user.

Sign in to Greenhouse with a Site Admin account, review the requested permissions, and click Authorize. Greenhouse returns you to Zero Assist automatically.

Back in Zero Assist, the Greenhouse card now shows Connected, and the webhook used by the integration is registered on your Greenhouse account automatically.

Zero Assist - Greenhouse connected confirmation

In the Trigger stage(s) field on the connected Greenhouse card, enter the Greenhouse interview stage name(s) that should start monitoring (for example, Phone Interview; separate multiple stages with commas), then click Save trigger stages.

Data the integration adds to Greenhouse

Zero Assist adds data to Greenhouse only by creating notes on the candidate's application activity feed. It does not edit or delete any existing Greenhouse data, and it does not move candidates between stages. Two notes are created for each interview:

  • Setup note — posted when the monitoring session is created; contains the session code, the live monitor link, and the agent download links for the candidate.
  • Results note — posted after the interview ends; contains the Integrity Score, risk level, alert count, and a link to the full report.

Both notes are posted as private notes, visible only to your Greenhouse users and never to the candidate.

Mapped fields

The integration reads the following Greenhouse fields to create each monitoring session:

Greenhouse field Zero Assist field
application.id Session reference
candidate.first_name, candidate.last_name Candidate name
candidate.email_addresses[0].value Candidate email address
candidate.employments[0].company_name Candidate company
application.jobs[0].name Role / interview name
current_stage.name Trigger stage match
current_stage.interviews[].id Interview round (one session per round)
current_stage.interviews[].name Interview round label

Use the Zero Assist integration

Once connected, the integration runs automatically — no per-candidate action is needed in Zero Assist. To start integrity monitoring for a candidate:

In Greenhouse, move the candidate into the trigger stage you configured.

Zero Assist automatically creates one monitoring session per interview round on that stage and posts a setup note to the candidate's application activity feed with the session code and the agent download links.

Greenhouse activity feed - setup note with session code and agent download links

Before the interview, share the setup instructions from the note with the candidate. The candidate downloads the Zero Assist agent, runs it, and enters the session code; monitoring runs silently for the duration of the interview.

After the interview ends, Zero Assist posts a results note to the same activity feed with the candidate's Integrity Score, risk level, alert count, and full report link.

To review a candidate's results, open the candidate's profile in Greenhouse and view the notes on the application's activity feed.
