Wellfound is a hiring platform for startups and technology companies. Employers use Wellfound to publish jobs, source candidates, manage inbound applicants, and keep hiring workflows in sync with their applicant tracking system.
Wellfound's integration with Greenhouse Recruiting allows users to import Greenhouse job posts into Wellfound, publish selected Greenhouse jobs on Wellfound, export Wellfound candidates and applicants to Greenhouse, keep candidate statuses in sync, and collect Greenhouse custom application questions when Job Board Integrations are enabled.
Configure the Wellfound integration
In Wellfound, open Recruit > Settings > ATS Integrations. You can also go directly to https://wellfound.com/recruit/ats.
Select Greenhouse.
On the Connect Greenhouse confirmation page, click Proceed to Greenhouse.com.
Sign in to Greenhouse if prompted.
Review the requested access and approve the Wellfound integration.
After approval, Greenhouse redirects you back to Wellfound. Wellfound will begin importing your Greenhouse jobs so you can finish setup.
Greenhouse permissions used by Wellfound
Wellfound requests Harvest v3 OAuth access so it can read job and candidate data, create or update candidates and applications, add notes and attachments, and keep Wellfound's recruiting workflow aligned with Greenhouse.

Use the Wellfound integration
Sync Greenhouse jobs to Wellfound
After the OAuth connection is approved, Wellfound imports your live external Greenhouse jobs and opens the sync setup flow.
On Select Greenhouse jobs to sync, choose which Greenhouse roles you want to publish on Wellfound.
Choose whether your company sponsors U.S. visas. If sponsorship varies by role, leave this off during setup and configure sponsorship on each Wellfound job later.
Choose whether to Automatically import new jobs to Wellfound. When enabled, new Greenhouse jobs are imported into Wellfound automatically during future syncs.
On Manage your existing Wellfound jobs, match imported Greenhouse jobs to existing Wellfound jobs where applicable.
If you are no longer hiring for an existing Wellfound job, click Remove.
Choose whether to Send previous applicants and matches to Greenhouse.
On Review your changes, confirm which Greenhouse jobs will be synced, which Wellfound jobs will be created, and which Wellfound jobs will be removed.
Click Save Changes.
When setup is complete, Wellfound shows a confirmation page and your selected jobs are live on Wellfound.
Export Wellfound candidates and applicants to Greenhouse
Once the integration is enabled, Wellfound sends candidates to Greenhouse based on your selected sync settings.
- When a candidate applies to a synced Greenhouse job on Wellfound, Wellfound submits the application to Greenhouse.
- Wellfound sends the candidate's name, email, resume, cover letter or note, Wellfound profile URL, source, selected job, and any supported custom question answers.
- After an application is submitted, Wellfound looks up the corresponding Greenhouse candidate record, links it to the Wellfound candidate, and updates the relevant application and candidate details.
- Wellfound periodically reads Greenhouse candidate application status, stage, hired status, and rejection data so candidate status stays aligned between Greenhouse and Wellfound.
Enable Greenhouse custom application questions
To display Greenhouse custom application questions on Wellfound jobs, add a Greenhouse Job Board Integration in Wellfound.
In Greenhouse, open Configure > Dev Center > API Credential Management.
Click Create New API Key.
Select Job Board as the API type.
Name the key Wellfound, then create and copy the key.
In Greenhouse, open Configure > Dev Center > Configure Job Board and copy the Board Token for the job board you want to connect.
In Greenhouse, open Configure > Dev Center > API Credentials > Job Board and create credentials for the Job Board API.
In Wellfound, open Recruit > Settings > ATS Integrations > ATS Settings.
Under Job Board Integrations, enter the Board Token and Job Board API Key.
Click Submit.
Wellfound validates the board token and API key. When validation succeeds, Wellfound shows Job Board Integration activated.
You can add more than one Job Board Integration if your company uses multiple Greenhouse job boards. Custom questions are enabled for roles connected to the active job board integrations.
Manage the integration
After setup, go to Recruit > Settings > ATS Integrations > ATS Settings to manage the integration.
From this page, you can:
- View the Greenhouse connection status.
- Reconnect Greenhouse if Wellfound shows a reconnection required message.
- Disconnect the Greenhouse integration.
- Configure what Wellfound exports to Greenhouse.
- Configure whether new Greenhouse jobs are imported automatically.
- Refresh imported listings.
- Add Greenhouse Job Board Integrations for custom application questions.
