BrightHire is the #1 interview intelligence platform and a preferred Greenhouse partner. BrightHire records, transcribes, and analyzes interviews to give talent teams AI-generated interview notes, highlights, and coaching — helping them hire faster, run more equitable and structured interviews, and make better decisions.
BrightHire's integration with Greenhouse Recruiting allows users to automatically sync their jobs, candidates, applications, scheduled interviews, interview kits, and scorecards from Greenhouse into BrightHire so interviews are captured and organized against the right candidate and job — with no manual setup. After each interview, BrightHire writes interview notes back to the candidate's activity feed in Greenhouse and can draft scorecards, so interviewers' feedback lives where your team already works.
Configure the BrightHire integration
Before you begin
- You must be a BrightHire admin with permission to manage organization settings.
- The person who authorizes the connection must be signed in to Greenhouse as a user with Site Admin–level permissions, so they can grant BrightHire access to your organization's Harvest data.
In BrightHire, go to Settings → Greenhouse.
Click Connect Greenhouse. You'll be redirected to Greenhouse to sign in (if you aren't already) and review the access BrightHire is requesting.
BrightHire recommends selecting Authorize using a service account at the bottom of the page. This creates an org-level service account to own the connection, so the integration keeps working even if the person who set it up later leaves or is deactivated. Then click Authorize. Greenhouse returns you to BrightHire automatically.
Back in BrightHire, the integration status shows Connected. You'll see the message: "Initial sync takes about 60 minutes. You can continue working without interruption." The first sync imports your existing Greenhouse data in the background; ongoing changes sync continuously.
That's it — the integration is live.
What BrightHire accesses in Greenhouse
When you authorize the connection, BrightHire requests read access to the records it needs to match interviews to the right candidate and job, write access to post interview notes and draft scorecards, and the ability to manage the webhooks that keep data in sync.
| Greenhouse data | Access | How BrightHire uses it |
| Jobs, job stages, openings, offices, departments | Read | Organize interviews by job and stage |
| Candidates, applications, prospects | Read | Match recordings to the right candidate / application |
| Scheduled interviews, interviewers, interview kits | Read | Capture the right interview and surface guide questions |
| Users | Read | Map Greenhouse interviewers to BrightHire users |
| Custom fields & options | Read | Reflect your organization's configuration |
| Interview notes (activity feed) | Create | Post BrightHire interview notes / recaps to the candidate |
| Scorecards & scorecard answers | Read / Create / Update | Read scorecard structure and draft scorecards on the interviewer's behalf |
| Candidate anonymization | Anonymize | Honor data-retention / redaction requests |
| Webhooks | Create / List / Update / Destroy | Register and maintain the webhooks that keep data current |
Note: Interview notes that BrightHire posts to Greenhouse appear in the candidate's activity feed and are attributed to BrightHire's integration. No Greenhouse data is changed beyond posting notes, drafting scorecards (when enabled), and honoring anonymization requests.
Disconnecting
To disconnect, go to Settings → Greenhouse and click Disconnect. This stops all future syncs and removes BrightHire's stored credentials. Greenhouse does not provide a supported token-revocation endpoint, so if you also want to revoke BrightHire's access from the Greenhouse side, do so by navigating to Greenhouse Configure (gear icon) Dev Center Connected Integrations.
Use the BrightHire integration with Greenhouse Recruiting
Once connected, the integration works automatically — no per-interview setup is required.
Recording and capturing interviews
Schedule interviews in Greenhouse as you normally would. BrightHire syncs the schedule and knows which candidate, job, and interview kit each interview belongs to.
BrightHire joins / records the interview (video or phone, per your BrightHire configuration) and produces a transcript, highlights, and AI-generated notes.
Interview notes and scorecards in Greenhouse
After an interview is processed, BrightHire posts the interview notes to the candidate's activity feed in Greenhouse, linked back to the full recording in BrightHire.
If scorecard auto-draft is enabled, BrightHire also drafts the interviewer's scorecard from the conversation so they can review, edit, and submit it.
