Virvell’s integration with Greenhouse Recruiting allows users to automatically trigger screening when candidates move between interview stages, and receive completed screening reports — including AI pre-screen summaries, voice reference check transcripts, and background verification results — directly on the candidate profile in Greenhouse.
Configure the Virvell integration
To connect Virvell to your Greenhouse account, follow these steps:
- In your Virvell dashboard, navigate to Settings > Integrations.
- Click Connect with Greenhouse. This launches the Greenhouse OAuth authorization flow.
- Log in with your Greenhouse credentials and approve the requested permissions. We recommend using the "Authorize using a service account" option for an org-level connection that is not tied to an individual user.
- After authorizing, you will be redirected back to Virvell with a confirmation that the connection is active.
Virvell requests the following permissions from Greenhouse:
- List applications, candidates, jobs, users, and job interview stages
- Create notes (to post screening results on candidate profiles)
- Create attachments (to attach PDF screening reports)
- Move applications (to auto-advance candidates after screening completes)
- Create, list, update, and destroy webhooks
Create a webhook
To receive real-time notifications when candidates move between stages, create a webhook in Greenhouse. Follow the steps in this article to create your webhook. Use the values listed below:

Mapping stages to screening types
After connecting, configure which Greenhouse interview stages should trigger each type of screening in Virvell:
- Pre-Screen Interview: Map to the stage where you want AI voice screening to occur before human interviews (e.g., "Preliminary Phone Screen")
- Reference Check: Map to the stage where you want voice AI reference checks to run (e.g., "Reference Check")
- Background Verification: Map to the stage where you want criminal record checks to run
You can configure whether screening starts automatically when a candidate enters a mapped stage, or requires manual initiation from the Virvell dashboard.

How screening results appear in Greenhouse
When a screening module completes, Virvell pushes results back to the Greenhouse candidate profile:
- Activity note: A structured summary with key findings appears in the candidate’s activity feed
- PDF report: The complete screening report is attached to the candidate profile and visible in every interview kit
- Stage advance (optional): If configured, candidates are automatically moved to the next stage when screening completes
The PDF report appears in the "Details" section of every interview kit for that candidate. Interviewers can view or download it directly from their kit without leaving Greenhouse.

Disconnecting the integration
To disconnect Virvell from Greenhouse:
- In Virvell: Settings > Integrations > Greenhouse > Disconnect
- In Greenhouse: Configure > Dev Center > Connected Integrations > Virvell > Disconnect
Disconnecting stops all future screening triggers. Existing screening data remains accessible in both platforms.
