Business Intelligence Connector: Redshift setup

Permissions: Basic users and above, with manage and configure BIC

Product tier: Available to Expert subscription tier

If you've chosen to access your organization's data through the Redshift BI Connector, you can use the steps below to connect the data to your data tool.

Access the setup page

Note: To access this page, you'll need the manage and configure BIC developer permission. A Site Admin can assign this permission under Configure > Users. Click here for more information.

Click the Configure icon Icon-Configure.png in the top right corner of the page and select Dev Center in the left panel.

Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Business Intelligence Connector.

Configuring Redshift

Click the Configure button.

Toggle the Enable Redshift button.

To add the Greenhouse Redshift credentials to your data tool, click Copy next to each field, and paste them into the configuration settings. Screenshot-of-five-copy-buttons.png

Select Generate new password.

Click Copy on the new password and paste it into your data tool.

Note: Redshift credentials aren't active until the first nightly data refresh. If you generate a new password, that password won't function until the next data refresh.

Enter the network addresses for your organization into the allowlist field.

Click Save. The Redshift data should appear in your data tool. When a connection is enabled, a green icon will appear next to the Redshift settings.

Redshift password not working

If you've just set up your Redshift connection or generated a new password, the credentials won't work until the next nightly data sync.

Connect to Tableau using Redshift

If you're attempting to connect to Tableau using the Greenhouse Redshift instance, you'll need to use the PostgreSQL driver when setting up the connection.
