As part of the sourcing details, every candidate application can be assigned a referrer, or "Who Gets Credit." This information can be used to track which users are sourcing candidates for your team, and is available as a metric in the Candidate Quality by Referrer report

Every user in your Greenhouse Recruiting account automatically is available to be selected as the referrer / Who Gets Credit when creating a tracking link, adding a candidate manually, or editing a candidate's sourcing details from the candidate profile > Details tab. In some cases though, your organization might prefer to assign credit to a unique referrer other than a user, such as for candidates submitted through a specific campaign. In this article, we will discuss how to create a custom referrer option to address those needs.

To add a custom referrer, click the Configure icon in the upper right-hand corner and select Custom Options from the left-hand panel.

On the subsequent page, click Referrers under the Company Metadata section.

On the Manage Referrers page, click the Create New Referrer button. Use the subsequent dialog box to provide a name for the custom referrer. Click Create Referrer when finished.

Note: The Manage Referrers page shows only custom referrers your team has created. However, you do not need to add individual users as custom referrers to assign the users credit. All users in your Greenhouse Recruiting account will always appear in Who Gets Credit dropdown menus.

Your newly created referrer will appear under the Who Gets Credit list on the candidate's Details tab > Source & Responsibility panel.

Note: Custom referrers cannot be selected in the Who Gets Credit dropdown when creating a tracking link.
