Two-factor authentication is a great way to add an additional layer of security to your Greenhouse Recruiting account. When your account is using two-factor authentication, users can be prompted to enter a verification code from their mobile device to log into their account. By enabling two-factor authentication, you can ensure your hiring information is extra-protected.
Each user in your system can enable it for themselves to ensure all of your hiring information stays extra protected.
Turn on two-factor authentication for your organization
Before users can configure Two-factor authentication on their own accounts, a Site Admin needs to activate the feature for the entire organization.
The two-factor authentication setting is on the Permissions Policies page. (Configure > Permissions Policies > Allow users to configure two-factor authentication on their accounts)
Turn on two-factor authentication for your user account
Once two-factor authentication is configured for your organization, you can enable it for your user account under the Account Settings page. (Your initials in the top right corner > Account Settings)
To turn on two-factor authentication, use the toggle switch on the right side of the page.
To verify your account, you'll have to enter a verification number. Enter a phone number and click Send Code.
Enter the verification code from your text message into the available field. When you're finished, click Verify and Save.
When two-factor authentication is enabled, the toggle switch will be green on your Account Settings page.
If you need to update your phone number, log into your account and click Change your phone number on your Account Settings page.
You can also deactivate two-factor authentication for your account using the toggle switch.
Log in using two-factor authentication
When your account is using two-factor authentication, you'll be prompted to enter a verification code after entering your username and password. The verification code will be sent to the phone number you associated with your account when setting up two-factor authentication.
This step will occur even if you are logging in using another account (such as your Google account, or a single sign-on provider like OneLogin).
Once you receive the verification code from the text message, enter it in the field and click Submit.
If you're using a trusted device, you can click Remember this computer for 30 days to no longer require verification codes when using the specific computer and browser for the next thirty days. You will still be prompted to enter a verification code if you log into Greenhouse Recruiting from a different phone, computer, tablet, or browser.
