Note: The Indeed Assessment platform and integration is only supported and available to those that were using the integration prior to 2019.

Indeed Assessments offers over 50 expertly designed test modules to match your needs and provides tools so that you can build a custom test unique to your organization. Their comprehensive library includes a wide range of job levels and industries to let you screen candidates for their aptitude, cognitive abilities, and specific skills that fit your hiring needs.

Greenhouse Recruiting's integration with Indeed Assessments allows your organization to add an Indeed Assessments Stage to your job's interview plan.

Enable the Indeed Assessments integration

To start, log in to your Indeed Assessments account and get your organization's custom API key. This can be accessed from your user badge in the upper right-hand corner, under Integrations.

Once you have received your API key, fill out the form at www.greenhouse.io/asksupport or click here to open a ticket.

Note: Don't send the API key in this initial email. Greenhouse Technical Support will respond with a SendSafely link for you to enter your API key.

A notification will be sent to Greenhouse Technical Support after you have entered your API key, and they'll email you to confirm that your API key has been set up in your account.

Note: To verify your identity, Greenhouse Technical Support may request you provide a support verification code before adding the API key to your organization's account.

Add the Indeed Assessment stage to your job's interview plan

Once the Greenhouse Recruiting / Indeed Assessments integration is enabled for your organization, you'll be able to add the Indeed Assessments test as an Interview stage on your jobs.

To do this for an existing job, navigate to the job (Jobs > Job Name) and click Job Setup on the left.Screenshot-of-Jobs_single-job-highlighted.png

Click Interview Plan on the left. Then click + Add a Stage.

Select the Indeed Assessments stage.

When finished, click Add to apply the stage to the job's interview plan.

Configure the Indeed Assessment stage

Once the stage has been added to the job's interview plan, click Edit Take Home Test. Use the provided drop-down to choose assessments that you have previously set up in Indeed Assessments.

Select the appropriate assessment and assign at least one Greenhouse Recruiting user to grade / review the submitted assessments. When finished, click Save.

Note: Keep in mind that all configuration of the assessment itself, as well as the email template, will need to be done in Indeed Assessments.

Send and review a test with the Indeed Assessment integration

When candidates are moved into the Indeed Assessments interview stage, Greenhouse Recruiting will display a Send Test link.

Note: When you send a test from Greenhouse Recruiting, the interview instructions are actually sent by Indeed Assessments.

The status of the assessment will be viewable in Greenhouse Recruiting and will display either:

  • Indeed Assessment to be sent
  • Waiting for candidate to submit test
  • Scorecard due from <DESIGNATED_GRADER>

Once the candidate has submitted their test, the interview kit will contain a link to view the submitted test on Indeed Assessments.
