Your organization might have thousands of candidates, but how are they navigating through your job pipelines? Do they get caught in Application Review limbo for weeks at a time, or do they breeze through the pipeline before getting stuck at a Take Home Test indefinitely? The Pipeline History and Pass-through Rates report lists every stage from each of your jobs and offers high-level information about each one.
Pass-Rate shows what percentage of candidates were in a particular stage who were then moved to any other stage (even backwards to a previous one), and Total Hours gives you an idea of how long your organization spends on candidates in each stage by computing the sum of the Interview Time for all interviews scheduled for a given stage or milestone. This can be useful in deciding whether you are wasting too many hours interviewing candidates early in the process who are not making it very far through the pipeline.
In this article, we will provide an overview of:
- Pipeline History and Pass-through Rates Report Filters
- Pipeline History and Pass-through Rates Report Visualization
To generate a Pipeline History and Pass-through Rates report, click the ellipsis on your navigation bar and select Reports from the dropdown menu.
From the Reports page, navigate to the Learn from Past Recruiting Efforts section and click Pipeline History and Pass-through Rates.
The Pipeline History and Pass-through Rates report will display data for every job where you have the appropriate permissions.
Note: The Total column of the report will also count candidates who never actually moved into that specific stage, but bypassed it to a later stage. For example, if a candidate was moved from the Application Review stage directly to the Offer stage, that candidate will contribute to the Total number for every stage in between.
Pipeline History and Pass-through Rates Report Filters
The Pipeline History and Pass-through Rates report can represent your job pipelines by by Stage or Milestones. Organize your report by either of these criteria by using the Columns dropdown menu.
Change the jobs being tracked in your report by clicking Change Filter. From the Filter Jobs dialog box, you can search and apply multiple filters to find jobs you would like to report on. When you have chosen all the jobs you would like to report on, click Save.
By default, the Pipeline History and Pass-through Rates report will display all the candidates who ever applied to the jobs included in the report. Use the Group of Candidates dropdown menu to select a custom time-period to examine.
Pipeline History and Pass-through Rates Report Visualization
The Pipeline History and Pass-through Rates report will visualize the Stages or Milestones for all jobs included in the report as a funnel. While the shape of the report will always be a funnel, the height of each segment will represent the total candidate volume for that Stage or Milestone (i.e. the taller a segment the more candidates)
Note: The report will not display a stage or milestone in the visualization if there has yet to be a candidate to reach that stage.
Note: If the total number of unique job stage names exceed 14 Stages, you will need to filter the report by Milestones to view the visualization.
Hover over any section in the visualization for that Stage's or Milestone's total number of candidates and pass-rate.
For jobs that receive a large number of applications, the height of the Application Review Stage can make it challenging to quickly understand the proportions of the other Stages or Milestones in the report. Enable the Hide Application Review Stage toggle to visualize your data without this Stage.
Since the visualization reflects the filters included in the report, changes made to your report via the filter panel can impact the visualization (e.g. filtering out a job or changing the periodization of the report).
