Set up the Alliance Risk Group integration
Create a Harvest API key
To configure the Greenhouse Recruiting / Alliance Risk Group integration, you’ll need to create a Harvest API key.
Follow the steps in this article to create the key, and verify that the permissions below are selected when configuring the Alliance Risk Group Inc.integration.
In the Create New Credential box, make the following selections:
- API Type: Harvest
- Partner: Alliance Risk Group
- Description: Alliance Risk Group Harvest API Key
Verify that the following permissions are selected for the Alliance Risk Group integration:
- GET: Retrieve Activity Feed
- GET: Retrieve Candidate
- GET: List Candidates
- PATCH: Edit Candidate
Custom Field Options
- GET: Custom field options
- POST: Create custom field options
- PATCH: Update custom field options
- GET: Retrieve User
- GET: List Users
When finished, click Save.
Your Harvest API key for the Greenhouse Recruiting / Alliance Risk Group integration is created and configured. Copy the API key to provide to Alliance Risk Group once all steps are complete.
Create a web hook
To integrate Alliance Risk Group with Greenhouse Recruiting, you’ll also need to create a web hook. Follow the steps in this article to create your web hook. Use the values listed below to configure the web hook:
- Name: A descriptive name for your integration. Most customers choose ‘Alliance Risk Group integration’
- When: Candidate has changed status
- Endpoint URL: Alliance Risk Group will contact Tazworks for Endpoint URL on your behalf and provide this information to you
- Secret Key: Alliance Risk Group will contact Tazworks for Endpoint URL on your behalf and provide this information to you
- Error Recipient Email: A responsible party from the client, and other parties that need to be notified of Greenhouse Recruiting errors.
Configure your Alliance Risk Group / Greenhouse Recruiting user IDs
In order to send information from Alliance Risk Group to Greenhouse Recruiting using the Harvest API, Alliance Risk Group will need a Greenhouse Recruiting user ID to associate with the data. This user account must be a Site Admin, but does not require any additional user-specific permissions. Use the steps listed below to create a new user for this integration.
Navigate to Configure > Custom Options -> Jobs -> Add Field. For the Field Name, enter Requestor Name and Field Type as Single Select.
Under the Options field, enter the name of all users who will be submitting orders. Format should be LastName, FirstName.
Next click Mark Private, and then click Save.
This will generate an Immutable Field Key that will need to be provided to Alliance Risk Group.
Create a custom job field and complete setup
Next, you'll need to create custom job fields for the Alliance Risk Group integration. To start, navigate to Configure > Custom Options > Jobs. Next, click Add field.
Give the field a name, such as “Alliance Risk Group package”, and select Single select as the Field type. Under Options, enter the exact package name as provided by Alliance Risk Group.
When finished, mark the new field as Mark Private and Required.
Click Save when complete.
Send the Immutable field key for your new job field along with your API credentials to Alliance Risk Groupto complete integration setup.
Use the Alliance Risk Group integration with Greenhouse Recruiting
Add the assessment to your interview plan
Once the Greenhouse Recruiting / Alliance Risk Group integration is enabled for your organization, you'll be able to add the Alliance Risk Group assessment as an interview stage.
To do this for an existing job, navigate to a job (Jobs > Job Name) and click Job Setup from the job navigation bar.
From the Job Setup panel, select Interview Plan. Scroll down the page and click +Add a Stage. Select the Alliance Risk Group stage and then, click Add to apply the stage to the job's interview plan.
Move candidates to the assessment stage
Moving the applicant’s stage to Background Check Requested will prompt an e-mail to be sent to the applicant for them to fill out required information via the QuickApp by our system.
After it has been sent, an assessment’s status will display in Greenhouse Recruiting. This is where the authorization is provided by the applicant for the background check.
Alternatively, you can enter the information yourself if you prefer paper authorization forms. You will receive an e-mail once the order has been sent by our system, as well as when the report is completed.
The completed report notification will provide a link that will bring you to the Alliance Risk Group portal. Log in with your assigned credentials to view the report with compliant and accurate results.
