How do I convert a Candidate to a Prospect?

There are two options for converting a Candidate into a Prospect:

Option 1 - Rejection:

For this option, you will first need to reject the Candidate from all jobs.  Once the candidate has been rejected, you'll see a button on the candidate profile page (lower right corner): Make <CANDIDATE> a Prospect.

Option 2 - Removal (Site Admins Only):

You can click Remove/Delete Candidate to bring up a modal window, which will give you the option to either remove a Candidate from a job and make them a Prospect, or delete the Candidate completely.

As long as the Candidate is only active on one job, you'll be able to select Remove from this job and make prospect.  If the Candidate is attached to multiple jobs, you'll either need to remove them from the other jobs, or you can follow the instructions to reject the candidate from all jobs and then make a prospect.

Hey guys, could you make it clear that the first option is for a job admin and the second one can only be done by a site admin? Thanks :-)

Could you also show a screenshot of option one from a job admin perspective?

I do not like the fact that rejected candidates clutter my job board. What can I do to remove them since I am not a site admin.

    Hi Kathy,

When you click on the Candidates tab, the default view should only show you the active candidates and prospects, not the rejected ones. If you'd like to remove the rejected candidates completely, you could tag them all with something like "Remove" and have a Site Admin go through and quickly purge them all in bulk every so often.

Please let me know if you have any other questions!

Used the "Remove from this job and make a prospect" feature and the candidate are now nowhere to be found. When I look in my history, it says I don't have permissions to view the page, however, I'm a site admin. What happened?

    Hi Ayo,

On top of being a site admin, there is a handful of advanced permissions that need to be granted per user. You're missing this one - "Can manage prospects on no jobs (add as prospect to jobs, advance as candidate onto jobs, see private data)" so you're unable to see the prospect profile.

I suggest reaching out to someone on your team who can grant you this permission!
