Convert a Candidate into a Prospect

Note: This resource is available to organizations with the Prospects feature.

In order to convert a candidate into a prospect, you will first need to reject the Candidate from all jobs.

To reject a candidate, navigate to the Candidate's profile (Dashboard>Candidates>Candidates Name) and click Reject in every Job window.

Once the candidate has been rejected from every job, you can convert the candidate into a prospect by clicking on Start New Prospect Process.

From the Start a New Prospect Process dialogue box, input the jobs, departments, offices, and other source tracking information in the corresponding fields. When finished, click Start New Prospect Process.

Hey guys, could you make it clear that the first option is for a job admin and the second one can only be done by a site admin? Thanks :-)

Could you also show a screenshot of option one from a job admin perspective?

I do not like the fact that rejected candidates clutter my job board. What can I do to remove them since I am not a site admin.

    Hi Kathy,

When you click on the Candidates tab, the default view should only show you the active candidates and prospects, not the rejected ones. If you'd like to remove the rejected candidates completely, you could tag them all with something like "Remove" and have a Site Admin go through and quickly purge them all in bulk every so often.

Please let me know if you have any other questions!

Used the "Remove from this job and make a prospect" feature and the candidate are now nowhere to be found. When I look in my history, it says I don't have permissions to view the page, however, I'm a site admin. What happened?

    Hi Ayo,

On top of being a site admin, there is a handful of advanced permissions that need to be granted per user. You're missing this one - "Can manage prospects on no jobs (add as prospect to jobs, advance as candidate onto jobs, see private data)" so you're unable to see the prospect profile.

I suggest reaching out to someone on your team who can grant you this permission!
