Prospecting with Greenhouse prospecting Google Chrome plugin

The Greenhouse Prospecting Chrome plugin provides functionality to make searching Greenhouse Recruiting more efficient while prospecting, and is installed on a per-user basis.

Once the plugin is installed, click the Greenhouse icon to open the Greenhouse Prospecting panel in your browser, and then highlight any name or email address. The plugin searches your Greenhouse Recruiting account for potential matches.

Find a match

If you find a match, the Prospecting panel displays a link that directs you to the search results in Greenhouse Recruiting for that candidate's name or email address so you can decide whether they are truly a duplicate or simply another person with the same information.

Note: The Greenhouse Prospecting Chrome Plugin only searches jobs and candidates you have access to based on your Greenhouse Recruiting user permission levels.

Add prospect to Greenhouse Recruiting

If the person does not exist in your Greenhouse Recruiting account and you want to add them as a prospect, click Prefill to quickly add available personal information into the extension.

Note: Prefill can fill in only the First and Last Name of the person. For more information on this, please see LinkedIn's Scraping Software Policy.

Manually enter additional desired information into the fields in the Prospecting panel (such as current title, current company, and the URL to the prospect's profile on that particular website or application).

If you want to add the person as a prospect for a particular department or office, or a specific job, scroll down the Greenhouse Prospecting panel to fill in the applicable fields.

When ready, click Add this Prospect at the bottom of the panel.

If the plugin is not working as expected, try the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Confirm you're logged into your Greenhouse Recruiting account
  • Quit and relaunch Chrome
