Why does it say an agency recruiter email address already exists when trying to add a new user even though I'm unable to locate them in our system?
While we usually don't recommend granting access to external users into Greenhouse systems via Configure > Users, we understand that it can sometimes be common for external recruiters to consult for specific reqs or overall systems for periods of time. In the event you try to add an agency recruiter but you get this notification below, the case may be that the agency recruiter has an active agency recruiter account via the agency portal. Greenhouse is not able to configure two user accounts (one linked to the general system and one linked to the agency portal) with one email address, as the login logic will hit an error.
We recommend reaching out to the agency recruiter for an alternate email address to use to create a user account if teams run into this issue.
